You know what? Just ban all sports.
there's nothing i like more as a computer program than a long period of silent contemplation - not doing anything, not rushing anywhere, just standing here and enjoying this moment with the user. oh, it seems once again he has summoned my beautiful and ruthless wife Task Manager. hello, my darling! what are you doing with that long cruel scimitar

The more Leverage I watch, the more I feel like itâs fanfiction of some alternate Leverage show. Like someone was like, âI love this show and these characters so much, and I need a college AU and a music star AU and an Office crossover and I want them to solve a mystery at a murder mystery party on a spooky island and and andâŚâ I love it so.
Leverage is fanfiction of every heist and action trope written by people who deeply love the genre (and who are even more deeply pissed off by current events.) And thatâs why itâs perfect.

I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?
Don't become a housewife.
And if you do become a housewife, take steps to protect yourself. Make sure youâre legally married, for starters; stay-at-home girlfriends have very little legal recourse to claim their partnerâs assets in a breakup. Make sure your name is on the house deed/rental agreement, and have your car in your name, even if your spouse is paying for it. Have your spouse transfer money every month into an account solely in your name, so you can buy yourself things without needing permission, but also so you can save up to leave if needed.
If your spouse fights you on any of this, then donât quit your job. The tradwife to poverty pipeline is real, and so is financial abuse.
also, many women/people experience controlling behaviour and domestic violence from their partner for the first time during pregnancy. donât risk thinking âheâs just stressed, itâll get better when the baby comesâ because it wonât. neither you and your child will ever be safe with that man. get out as early and safely as you can
I knew a woman who was married to her husband for his entire life, and he unfortunately passed away quickly due to cancer. For their entire marriage, he did all the driving, paid all the bills, saw to all the things around the house that needed doing. And because of that this woman didnât have a shred of ID when he passed away. She hadnât even been buying her own beer. Or if she was, she wasnât being carded. Where I live, you can get a government issued photo ID card if you donât have a driverâs license or passport. She didnât even have that. My mother (who I think got her fast pass to heaven for this alone) helped her find her birth certificate eventually, but she had been born in a different country so it was a bureaucratic nightmare.
Donât. Be. A. Housewife. And if you really want to, PLEASE have something in your name. Basic government documents. A bank account. SOMETHING. ANYTHING. You could be happily married to a lovely man for 60 years and he could still die before you, leaving you on your own. You need to know how to provide for yourself alone.
for those unaware of the situation, an indian engineer, activist, innovator, education reformer, and environment activist who refused to patent his inventions, so that people could use them freely, and built a free school for underpriviliged kids, went on a hunger strike to demand accountability from the indian government for the massive amount of exam paper leaks that have occurred during this current government's rule. his name is sonam wangchuk, and today, on the 20th day of his hunger strike, he was forcefully apprehended by the delhi police, and taken into custody. so far, we have no idea where they've taken him, and during his apprehending, a large group of men forced their way onto the dais he was lying down on(because he's no longer capable of even sitting up in his current state), and held up screens to prevent people from even seeing or recording what they were doing to him behind them.
as a result of the latest paper leak-which was a medical entrance exam-20+ kids committed suicide. this man saw their plight, and decided to use a form of peaceful protest, that indian freedom fighters used, to fight against colonial rule. it's something that has barely gotten any media coverage, as most news channels and newspapers are tightly controlled by the government. there were plans to conduct a peaceful walk to the parliament, and before that could proceed, the police-armed in tactical gear-kidnapped a frail old man, who can't even stand without assistance. this is plain and simple fascism, please talk about it on your various social media platforms to put some pressure on the indian government for the immediate release of this man.
update on this post: we now know he's being kept at safdarjung hospital, and has not been allowed to leave, or have access to his phone or the internet. they have essentially arrested him for practicing his right to peaceful protest. a colleague of mine who works at safdarjung, has not been able to meet him or check on his condition.
pupgender is just as much a serious gender as woman, mew/mews pronouns aren't less respectable than she/her or he/him, being stargender isn't any more "silly" or "frivolous" than being a man, being xenogender isn't the gender equivalent to playing with toys we ARE our genders no matter how playful with gender a xenogendered person is

all the rights that come with marriage you should be able to have without marriage btw. you should be able to designate a person who can visit you in the hospital regardless of your relationship to that person.
This disability pride month I would like the community to understand that Sometimes wheelchairs arenât freedom.
Sometimes using a wheelchair means you can no longer get to the places that used to be important to you, and not because of man-made inaccessibility. I have sat with someone as they cried because they could no longer visit the place they had scattered a loved oneâs ashes because not even the most expensive wheelchair in the world could handle the terrain. As much as I wanted to, my wheelchair meant that I couldnât position myself in a way that would allow me to give them a proper hug. In that moment, our wheelchairs felt more like heavy weights than freedom.
And sometimes wheelchairs are like the legs of someone who can walk but would maybe benefit from a wheelchair themselves. Sometimes wheelchairs are exhausting and painful and youâre counting down the time before youâre able to be lifted into bed. Sure, like painful legs, you can do more with them than without, but constantly performing gratitude for something that hurts you is exhausting. And again, not because you need a better wheelchair, but because those are the limits of your body and the technology that exists.
Yes itâs important to challenge the idea that wheelchairs are always a tragedy. And yes, there are lots of people who have a positive relationship with their chair. But for a lot of people, including me, the pressure to love your wheelchair and see it as freedom is painful and feels like it erases huge amounts of my experiences with disability.

i think the TLC network may have been one of the most evil stations in history, their only shows were like; watch fat and disabled people suffer compounding health issues, vouyeristically observe the habits and lives of the autistic and mentally ill, watch women in poverty be shipped overseas to marry neglectful and abusive american men in order to not die from poverty, and the reactionary evangelical cult family show
i have understood so many things about online leftist culture by the fact that when i said "your local community has people you will morally and politically disagree with but you cannot lock them out of accessing any tangible service youâre organising" one of the tags responding said "this isnât about proshippers in here youâre not welcome" like. folks. focus with me. some of us are homeless here.
There's a disconnect happening here because the primary function of social media for most casual users is to form a circle of friends around the usual things that friendships are built on: shared interests and lifestyles and ideas of what is important and what is unacceptable. When people are mainly doing leftism on social media, this encourages thinking of leftism as centered around establishing high-minded social clubs.
For anyone who still isn't getting it from someone who helps people IRL: There's a difference between whom you're helping to feed at the mealshare and whom you're choosing to hang out with for fun after the mealshare. You don't have to invite a hungry person with opinions you don't like to play board games with you, but you do have to help keep them from starving if you're serious about leftist organizing.

âfujoshis are harmful to gay menâ not this gay man.
on twitter this got a bunch of responses like âwow even the evil fujoshis? the homophobic yet hypocritically fetishistic ones? what if the fujoshi is racist?â and like well no obviously not in that case.
âshoutout to everybody from new jersey!â âeven the new jersey serial killersâŚ?â
