Man I'm so sick of feeling like everything is... not falling apart. No, it's being pulled apart. Our places that we gather and talk and just exist and try to scrape some kind of nice life together out of just surviving are under constant assault to make some shareholder another dollar on their stock holdings. It's exhausting. I'm exhausted.
I got news earlier this month that GoImagine, the store front that I have been using for the farm, will be shutting down. This sucks because GoImagine had a LOT of features that made using it so seamless and straight forward! And in light of Tumblr's recent (thankfully rolled back.. for now) shenanigans, and Discord still threatening to implode, it's really just everything all at once? So I have assembled a (not complete, subject to change) list of places where you can find the lizard and will keep it updated in case of more inevitable internet gutting.
The Store: I am currently moving everything over to Storenvy. NGL I really don't like them, but it's currently the devil I know that isn't Etsy, so that's what
The Farm: still has a facebook and insta page. I do not use these for personal or fandom posting of any kind, and the only stuff you will see is posts and pictures relevant to my crafts and critters.
Chatting: I'm trying out Stoat! So far it's more like old discord before nitro with a few extra customization features. You can find me under Lizardlicks#4296
SocMeds: I have a bsky account. there is. nooooooothing on it. ngl I hate the whole microblogging format, but I might end up migrating some art over there for safe keeping even tho it's assss for art posting
Blogging: I still have a dreamwidth account that i have forgotten then come back to over the years. tbh perhaps fannish spaces should consider moving back.....
Also, I'm still, and will probably always be until the day they drag my ass to the funeral home, on Ao3
Pinning this post to my front page for easy acess. Please feel free to reblog with your own addition if you want me or any of your mutuals to know where to find you, or just DM me directly if you don't want to add to a public post.

I think Roku would be playful and figure that since his friend has an arrow, he wants one too.
The reason I drew Roku's hair short is 'cause I reckon Gyatso got the arrow not long after this guy started learning airbending officially. By the timeline, this guy's shaved head should've only grown this much hair.
People on Tumblr love sharing information about themselves no matter how asinine it is. And I'm the same way. Everybody tell me what the last thing you drank was.

as a proponent of hakoda & aang being besties it's always so funny to see those comic panels from north & south where aang is calling him "head chieftain hakoda" and "sir" like the only explanation i can imagine is that this is an extended bit they have going on. hakoda tells aang to get in place for a prank they're pulling and aang solemnly salutes and says "yes head chieftain hakoda SIR!" hakoda asks "would the revered avatar aang like to go penguin sledding this afternoon" and aang is like "i think i can squeeze it in great and honorable chief hakoda of the southern water tribe" and they dissolve into giggles
one addendum: I CAN see aang referring to Hakoda very formally at first because he doesn't know where they're supposed to stand as far as them both being political world leaders and also he would very much like to date the man's daughter....
but then Hakoda asks if he can ride Appa because, "you kids always make it look fun," and, "can I pet him? He looks really soft, is he soft?" and aang realizes they're very chill.

Okay, a comment from @kinasecrystal has led me to feel as if i must explain how very much I can't stand AZ. And how very much being disabled/homeless in AZ sucks in any season. And why no contact is best contact with my terrible conservative maga family.
I did not get diagnosed with the autism i very much had until I was an adult. It took ten years of smashing my head into metaphorical barriers until I was able to get actual services that met my needs. And even longer to get a clinic that wasn't gaslighting me over my diagnoses. I have only been briefly employed a few times since roughly 2009. I cannot work because my ability to process information or respond quickly to changes in situations has degraded significantly, and was never that great to begin with. Also: anxiety and meltdowns.
I became fully homeless in roughly 2012. I was living for about a year or so with my toxic, abusive parents! They initially were willing to have me stay with them, and while I thought that my pets at the time (a cat and cockatiel) would be welcome/my parents would be able to keep them in food and cat litter, I found that this was not the case. There were other additional problems most of them centering around my being liberal, and their being incredibly conservative and also kind of racist! A great time was not had by all, and mom eventually kicked me out due to irreconcilable differences in opinion. (I was going crazy trying to find work, and my parents thought I wasn't trying hard enough.)
This resulted in two (2) suicide attempts and two trips to a resource center for the homeless/mentally ill.
In 2013, I end up in a group home, but this does not go well for me, as it's basically a different variation of "get a job. No, you aren't trying hard enough. Any job. Just get a job," that my parents had put me through and resulted in the attempts. Then in 2014 I end up getting kicked out because no job. I had to go to a homeless shelter that would drop you off at a down town resource center for the homeless. I made an effort to find a way to get a job, and services, AND disability, which was not easy the first time nor the second time.
THIS is why I do not want to go through being homeless in AZ again. The first time around drove me near around the bend. That I'm going to be homeless again is a very strong possibility, and I will fast forward many years to explain why.
In 2019: I finally get diagnosed/screened. There is a great deal of drama because the SMI (seriously mentally ill) clinic I am at will not include "autism" in their treatment plan because autism is developmental. They will NOT put the goddamn diagnosis paperwork on file. They are complete asinine dicks to me. But!
I have housing where I pay a reduced rent
I have foodstamps.
I am getting closer to my end goal of Finally Getting Disability and/or SSI.
There are some very stupid problems with my parents that result in my finally, finally, FINALLY going full no-contact instead of partial. (They deliberately wrecked my book cases when I asked them to hold my stuff while I was homeless and also unable to pay for storage. My horrible, mean littlest sister set my cockatiel loose. My very geriatric cockatiel, who was never the most agile flier, IN A NEIGHBORHOOD FULL OF GODDAMN FERAL CATS. My mom decided to be super passive aggressive at me, my dad kept pitching tantrums at me. It was an entire thing, and on top of the my brother was being Super Annoying.)
2020: I think I have most of my shit together, but then: Pandemic. This time sucked less for me because I had moved to a better apartment, Didn't usually go outside or interact with others all that much, I had SSI, and I was doing pretty okay and I had an Emotional Support Dog.
Fast forward: Everything goes fucking down hill in 2024- 2025. I don't have SNAP benefits, and I am having problems with the apartment management who keep trying to evict me for reasons that are a) untrue b) absolute bullshit. (They tried to say my emotional support dog didn't have a doctors note and I'd be evicted over that. They tried to say the apartment was unlivable, when it was just between cleanings and I am terrible at housework because executive dysfunction. Just. Absolute bullshit.)
In 2025-2026, things go absolutely to hell with my housing specialists/the subsidized housing contractors who pay most of the rent. My complex changed hands. So far so good. I am pretty sure I was told that the contractor-company paid my rent to the new owners. HOWEVER the ledger shows that this was not actually the case. I might or might not be required to pay off that rent, depending on if the housing company decides to recognize the debt or not. (They are not going to. They won't answer my phone calls. They won't reply to my emails. THEY WON'T FUCKING RESPOND TO MY CASE MANAGER'S CALLS OR EMAILS.)
On top of that:
Youngest Sister is pulling the same kind of passive aggressive shit our mother did to me, Younger Sister and Little Brother. And is saying the most insane bullshit I've ever heard, racist, antisemitic, homophobic, transphobic ableist shit. Brother is full on Maga, and I can only assume so are most of the relatives in AZ. (And I know I assume correctly because they are fucking batshit insane "christian" conservatives who I really, really can't stand.)
So. I am. Getting. The Fuck. Out. I am getting help from Younger Sister and Brother In Law (mostly promoting/reposting my help request, though sister is also going to help with transportation and making sure I don't get lost two feet from the airport/trainstation/whereever)
My goal is 15,280, with a move out date somewhere near the end or November, but hopefully not too close to the holiday rush.
#also also being homeless in az in the summer is not much better than being homeless in mn in the winter#and believe me when I say the support systems are SO much better#az is a backwards ass state
@lizardlicks I would go so far as to say homeless in AZ in the summer OR winter is worse. Because global warming. (Winters getting much toastier and hot weather is pretty much impossible to deal with.) But also because of the non-zero chances of someone getting shot. And not by criminal. No, you're going to get harassed and maybe shot by a cop or some other dude, because it's illegal to sit down anywhere for any length of time.
With AZ I have experienced a completely inability to encounter a live person from any social service agency (not our medicaid, not our department of economic services). For a Really Long Time. But the MN social service chat has a LIVE PERSON. And I got sent really good emails with stuff I would need and what I'd need to do. Within a DAY.
yeah my one and only experience with trying to get any help with services in AZ was when spouse had a medical emergency that landed him in the hospital and surgery. sudden massive medical bill+unable to work and we had been earning a combined total of around 30k with working more than full time hours (he averaged 45 and I was closer 60. No overtime because we were in an "exempt" industry. no PTO or sick leave either.)
the social worker who was supposed to help us apply and qualify for state Medicaid included our room mate's income in the calculation (we were married so she should not have done that). we were denied because we had too much income. when asked if we could appeal, all we got was a big ol' shrug and no further communication. When I also started having medical issues that prevented me from working, we ended up leaving our apartment and moving back to the PNW. took YEARS to clear that debt.
Arizona's answer to anyone asking for help is to shrug and say, "have you tried not being poor and sick? idk then man, just die about it ig."
