Moosi Maharani Ki Chhatri - Remembrancer of Power, love, and Sati . A Chhatri is elevated dome shaped pavilion, typically used to depict funeral sites. Moosi Maharani Ki Chhatri is situated outside City Place in Alwar, Rajasthan. It is made of beautiful red sandstone on the backdrop of the emerald, green pond, and Aravalli Hills. It was constructed by Raja Vinay Singh in memory of Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh and his wife тАУ Rani Moosi in 1815. It is believed that Queen Rani Moosi committed тАШSatiтАЩ (widow immolates herself sitting atop during her husbandsтАЩ funeral pyre), this cenotaph stands for Power, love, and sati. This barbaric Sati practice was banned in India in 1824. This piece of Rajput architecture, Moosi Maharani ki chhatri looks derelict and needs more attention. .
