Parodied Trope - Let's Split Up, Gang! THE BLACKENING (2022) dir. Tim Story
Memo to everybody :
Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a WIP you abandoned. Sometimes the idea needs a different set of characters or a different setting.
An addition:
Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a project you already completed. Sometimes ideas really are just that good and deserve to be used more than once.
More cake sometimes making the same cake twice.
While watching a DVD from the library my TV popped up a message saying to press a button if I wanted to watch this from additional providers.
It's never done that before so I looked it up and turns out Roku TVs have added all sorts of creepy things in the privacy section since I last checked.
One of which being they take screenshots from what you're watching and send them to third parties to identify it.
Fucking hell! Remember when every fucking device in your life wasn't a spy implanted in your home and working against your interests to try and sell your data? Remember how nice that was??
Remember when the TV was just a tool that would play the things you plugged into it?
Why must the future suck SO much?
TVs collect a huge amount of data. Here's how to use privacy settings to limit the surveillance on TVs from LG, Samsung, TCL, and every othe
A good rundown on what each brand of TV is up to and which settings you should turn off.
PSA - Do not buy an LG smart TV. They just added a line to their terms of use that it's the user's responsibility to inform any guests in their house that by entering they consent to be recorded, in order to comply with wiretapping laws. That thing is literally recording you.
You can find tutorials online telling you how to open that thing up and physically remove the mic and wifi module. Frankly I don't trust anything less.
Please watch the Gamers Nexus video on LG Smart TV's and monitors! It's basically malware at this point.
the fact that the captions didn't translate gora pakoda is a crime!
gora means somthing along the lines of fair skinned, or outright white
pakoda or pakora is a fritter made with various vegtables in a gram flour batter and then fried
gora pakoda thus means white fritter and is often used as a term of andearment for white people or as mild, but friendly insult (depending on context)

yall think of the word greek and imagine blonde blue eyed people bc greek was literally colonized and retroactively made to be associated with european descent….oh who am i kidding yall dgaf u just don’t like the idea of black people “staining” your Favorite Romanticized white fantasies
hi! do you have any recommendations for specific brands or places to get pots-appropriate compression wear? no idea where to even start w/abdominal stuff, and every time I look at longer stockings I go damn I wish this had dinosaurs on it (as some of my shorter less effective socks do). thank you!
I will do my best... my favorite compression sock brands are wellow (these are the most comfortable by far) sockwell, and vim&vigr (those two have higher compression but aren't as comfortable)
for abdominal compression the most effective ones by far are supacore, which are very $$$. sign up for emails and wait for sales, sometimes certain colors will be deeply discounted, u gotta check in every so often to see. the most COMFORTABLE stuff is from jelliebend, although the material they use gets you really sweaty if you wear it out and it's hot. so that a consideration. i also have compression leggings from cean that I like, and they make shorts and an abdominal Tube thing that's a lot like the jelliebend one. i like jelliebend for being more accessible bc they're a very small company and frequently send out feedback forms to try and get opinions & insight about what type of products their customers would find most helpful and I like when ppl involve customers in product design like that when they're making stuff for sick & disabled people.
those are my favorites of the stuff I have tried. i wear wellow socks and my jelliebend shorts almost every day, and the vim&vigr socks and supacore shorts on days when I need to leave the house for an appointment or errand or whatever.
Adjacent recommendation since I know people have trouble finding this: if you need lower leg compression for large legs, Doc Miller has decent compression socks and sleeves to fit up to a 28" calf.
And I have not tried them myself, but some of my fat friends have recommended Superfit Hero, which carries light (8-15mmHg) compression leggings up to a 79" waist/90" hip.
ty for the addition! I've heard from other ppl who need compression & find a lot of available options too small that looking at companies who market stuff for lipedema can be a good way to find things that are larger, as well, if that helps anybody format search terms when looking for these things
the god of surveillance
My lord I need you to make up your mind, where the fuck are we going
my lord i think we're lost
my lord????
*wheezing* please....My Lord....I just caught up
My Lord COME BACK?!
MY LORD?? there is no way I can follow you there!
...all right My Lord [SIGH] I guess I will just have to trust you
my lord i WARNED you-
That ask about "the 250 project" book made me think of "the 1619 project" Have you come across that one? Have any opinions?
(you deserve all of the desserts ever. Just. In general. Always fun to learn something new and hang {virtually} with you!)
I've come across it, I don't have any strong opinions. It's important, it's one of those things I wish people interacted with more, but... As you know. People don't like to interact with the legacy (and the weight) of the slave trade here, so.

FOR INSTAGRAM (and maybe other Meta networks in the future?)
Since this is Tumblr, this is more of a PSA. I posted this on Netherworld Post's instagram, threads, and Facebook account earlier.
Good to know if you run something elsewhere. There are plenty of people talking about it, but Meta certainly has not made any giant announcement that I have seen.
Email sign up is available at netherworldpost.com and emails will (very) likely be our primary source of contact (if not exclusive) when atticus gets back in August.
Email and… sigh, laugh, Tumblr, the system that seems to survive somehow everything.
Time to study small scale advertising?
anyway
be good

you do you
This is The Boy From Venus #4! Ty for reading. :D

it's cool how in the 6 years since this tweet was written it's become significantly less useful not because anything has gotten better but because the majority of products on Amazon are now from fly-by-night brands called "ZZPORK" and "GLUM4PANT"
you were almost turned into a vampire, but before you could be fully turned, the vampire was staked. This left you with a vampire weakness, while still being human.
Spin the wheel to find out your weakness!
How much does this effect you?
Nothing changes
It's inconvenient but I can deal with jty
It will be hard to adjust but I'll figure it out
I don't know if I'll be able to live like this
Maybe I can find another vampire to finish the turning?
I might just kill myself
Results/other
thanks @theemmjay for submitting this poll idea!! Seriously it's such a cool concept I love it so much
I'm so glad this man is living in fear now
it is insanely funny that he's so mad with fear and decadence that he's deploying missile defense systems to his golfing

Catch me tomorrow spinning at the Iowa State Fair! I'll have a whole display set up with various fibers and parts of the spinning process explained.
I specifically chose different wools for the sheep section to show off breed variation- long and lustrous bfl x teeswater, medium-in-most-ways cheviot, and ultrafine merino.
I'll also be spinning some fun dyed braids, one of which is the sparkly Honeygold Acres one I started last week.
WHEN I TEACH I GO ALL OUT!
y'all might have heard of this but there's a youtuber called KVN AUST who has a series of videos about "youtube's recycle bin", basically videos that have zero or very few views because they were uploaded without titles and instead have the file name given by the devices they were shot on.
I HIGHLY recommend the whole series but also you can use his library of "leads" to explore the Youtube Recycle Bin yourself and I've done that a lot and it's SO fun
The internet is so vast, much more expansive than algorithms will ever show you. This really reminds me of wandering around randomly on Google Earth. It's possible to experience so much of the world it's kind of mind boggling.
I've been keeping a collection of my favorite youtube recycle bin finds.
I think this is my favorite thing I've found on there.
theres apparently more kinds of music than you can possibly imagine. its like. completely randomized sample of human artistic expression.
also there's at least more kinds of sports than I thought existed.
and also everywhere people are dancing. and they're usually not very good at it but that's okay
at the club in some eastern european country judging by the cyrillic text
guy in some kind of cosplay with a gas mask dancing
dance show, looks like students, cyrillic text again. pink panther theme? then party rockers in the house tonight?
guy plays drums on buckets and trashcans (interesting)
guy rapping but you cant hardly hear him because of wind blowing over the microphone. im amazed by the video quality being so good and the audio quality being so bad
brief ambience in a bar
dancing (pretty good)
on stage monologue in language i don't understand
more dancing
no idea what this is
furries dancing on the roof of a building to a furry related song
unfamiliar kind of music. I've never seen instruments like these before. there are poles you beat against the ground and pipes that you slap with a flat implement. it sounds really cool though.
disco music with a guy with a really bad wig
low quality video at a rave or something
driving terrifyingly thru snow somewhere in eastern europe i think
riding in a boat along a canal with dilapidated buildings with graffiti right up to the waters edge very interesting
truck sports somewhere in like, saudi arabia or nearby
Fish market. they are VERY fresh you can tell by the fact they're still flopping
riding a four wheeler in some kind of savanna like environment in the darkness
boat on a lush waterway nice ambience
Some kind of technology being demonstrated. would be really interested to learn what is being shown here
guys inside of a mine?
view out the window of a train near a gigantic city
unfamiliar sport where you hit eachother with sticks balancing on a beam
Guy walks under a bridge appears to be singing to himself the word "homeless"
early morning city ambience really vibey
another peaceful city ambience out a window
night time video out of the window in a city
oceanside city ambience
people in knight armor hitting each other with sticks
anyways that is most of my curated list
more of my curated list
Pole dance routine by a dude dressed as a gladiator
Thunderstorm ambience in a city.
Beatboxing battle
Possibly a hotel or something? Backrooms vibes, empty and eerie.
Breakdancing, multiple boys show off their dancing. the breakdancing vids were some of the favorite stuff I found
pocket full of scam by "clowns against corruption"
A video of driving down a road in the darkness that was somehow captivating to view as a kind of short horror film because of the drawn out and distorted audio.
I don't think this pipe should be doing that.
Really cool dance routine called "Symbiosis"
A mascot bee at what looks like a child's birthday party dances to a song that seems...slightly inappropriate for a child's birthday party. definitely on e of my top 5 finds
Snow over apartments. IMMACULATE vibe.
Dance contest between Spider-Men
Unfamiliar music, not sure what he's saying but i love the enrgy
Captivating video of a machine that makes those plastic cartons blueberries come in. the SOUNDS it is so satsfying
POV of a person barely maintaining control of a bike as she rides it down a brick street, making noises of fear and apprehension
immaculate Backrooms vibe. I would love to find more like this.
Another breakdancing competition. My brother and i fascinatedly watched all nine minutes of this. One of my top finds
A beautiful cow investigates a shrine. love the energy of this video
Guy dressed as an egg or possibly the kool aid man silently flailing
A short film about a printer that tries to seduce a guy. Surprisingly well done
Indian rave
Chinese dance contest. Some similarities to breakdancing but not sure exactly what it is, seems like an eclectic mix.
I have no idea what kind of place this is. Maybe a casino? Looks almost like a pro wrestling outfit but he's playing a trumpet
military/police training? paintball? No idea what's going on here but I've found a number of vids like this
I am WILDLY impressed at how many bricks this person can balance on their head
I have this one saved as "no party like an Eastern European party." I have a lot of drunk people in my collection but these gotta be some of the drunkest
Booed at the slam poetry
this is only some of it i desperately need to categorize these
it is really striking to me how the version of the world I am shown on algorithm based social media is so different. i am a white USAmerican so algorithms show me other white USAmericans...assuming i only want to see people like myself...
But exploring the internet randomly, using these "leads" to find random videos, it is much more representative of the real world. You can see city streets, buildings, music and dances from everywhere, hear many different languages being spoken, and see all kinds of unfamiliar things that the algorithms would not have shown you.
I realize it is important to see them, to go against the propaganda that warps our minds.
If you are in USA TV and media will never ever show you the real everyday life of people in most countries of the world. but the internet in theory could have the power to unite everyone
It is also really striking how vast and unexplored the internet is. Did you know everything uploaded to Youtube was used to train AI models? All these fragments of real life and real art, languishing in obscurity, shoveled into the slop machine to make slop.
I mostly used "MVI [any four random digits]" as my lead when searching. It gives a lot of older (10+ years old) videos. It is a video camera of some kind.
There are so many dances in the world. So many! So many ways to dance. All over the world, everyone loves to dance, sing, and play music.
I need to categorize and sort my list so I can start categorizing all the dances I find. I try to save the video every time I find a new dance.
