AI doesn't lie to you, no god forbid.  It does something worse: it repeats whatever the internet says loudest, and serves it back as fact. It's called knowledge poisoning but it's not limited only to disinformation being categorized as facts, it also contains sentiment. Researchers from Tel Aviv University had GPT-4 write fictional characters with Jewish and non-Jewish names, then deleted every name and label. With nothing left to go on, the model still rated the Jewish-coded profiles as colder, more manipulative, more obsessive, more power-hungry.  When asked to match that profile to real characters, it returned Walter White and Hannibal Lecter. When asked which real group gets stereotyped this way, it answered "Jews," and cited the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Three different AI models did this independently, after companies spent millions scrubbing out bias. Here's why this should worry everyone, not just Jews: These systems don't learn what's true. They learn what's frequent. A peer-reviewed study, a vandalized Wikipedia page, and a 2014 conspiracy thread on Reddit all look identical to the machine.  A lie repeated a million times beats a fact stated once. A 1000-year-old bigotry just resurfaced from the digital sludge, and the same system is now screening job applicants, supporting medical calls, and teaching kids.

Something I think that a lot of leftists and progressives fail to understand, is that the push against normalization with Israel and for the complete dissolution of the state, actively makes the situation worse for Palestinians. It actively makes the conflict worse, and I would argue is one of the direct causes for the war getting as bad as it did.

It's also starved the peace movement in both Israel and Palestine of international support. Imagine where we could be right now if the anti-war movement had the sort of political and financial support that the pro-war movement has had. But because they're not calling for an end to the state of Israel, they're too Zionist for pro-Palestinians to work with.

I made this post in October. Since then, it came out that Graham Platner fully knew about his Nazi tattoo and playfully referred to it as "his totenkopf." It came out that he has a history of slurs and prejudice against gay men. It came out that he joined the military specifically because he wanted to kill people. It came out that he is a serial cheater. Today, it has come out that he is a physical abuser.

Antisemitism is extraordinarily well suited to such systems. Platforms amplify the thrill of forbidden knowledge, insider language, memes, and collective outrage while making them instantly accessible and endlessly repeatable. The digital dogpile—coordinated mass attack on a single Jewish target—is the mob made digital. Like the analogue mobs that preceded them, these too are often gleeful and public. But unlike earlier forms, participation no longer requires gathering in the street or much physical effort at all. The mob no longer needs to gather, it simply needs to log on.

On this day, 5 July 1948, the UK National Health Service (NHS) was founded, on the principle that medical treatment should be provided according to need rather than the ability to pay. The idea for the NHS was not the result of individual enlightenment, but of working-class self-organisation. The inspiration for the NHS came from the Tredegar Workmen’s Medical Aid Society in South Wales, where coal miners and steelworkers paid in a small weekly subscription. By the start of World War II, 95% of Tredegar was covered by the society. Philip Prosser was born with club foot and received treatment as a result of his father's membership of the Society. He recounted: "I was taken to one of the top orthopaedic doctors in Wales and that was the start of my treatment for quite a few years. When the NHS came in in 1948, I was transferred over.
