On the most zoomed out and least loaded level I can think of, it is basically axiomatic that large military operation by any organized and armed force will commit some atrocities. It's one of the reasons people say (but mostly don't believe) that crimes of aggression are the most serious and foundational war crimes of all. Despite this, basically no one on here who has ever picked a side in a conflict as 'the good ones' seems capable of accepting their guys might have done a massacre or tortured prisoners or abused civilian populations.

Certainly people seem incredibly resistant to accepting that states or administrations (or even specific policies and projects) that they consider praiseworthy has some price in blood and tears. The reaction to first-hand accounts of said price are usually reacted to as entirely bad-faith propaganda.

She is not that.

She is Elon Musk. She is Trump. She is a powerful monster with the money to end lives.

Giving her money and creating a demand for her books by engaging in fandom should be seen the same way owning a cybertruck is seen. Harry Potter gear is in the same category as MAGA gear.

I need to see the same disgust and outright hatred of her that I see about all the evil men in her category. I don't know if people see her as less dangerous because she's a woman or if people are worried that hating on a woman will get their feminist card revoked, but she needs to be taken more seriously by a lot of people. She's a big name heavy hitter with more money than anyone should be allowed to have.

There's nothing wrong with using a memetic joke name to describe billionaires, corrupt men in power and child predators, specially since the Venn diagram is a circle

The vast, vast majority of child abuse is committed by parents, family members or those with regular access (neighbours, family friends, teachers)

And the vast majority of those are not also billionaires or corrupt men in power. So no, the venn diagram is not a circle.

Predictable increase times, an incomplete list:

Holidays - not just the major ones either. Memorial day, labor day, and the 4th of July are all days with celebrations that center primarily around drinking. Juneteenth makes racists mad, so they pick fights with whoever is closest (their partner).

Sporting events - from the national to the babby's first concussion league. Weird increase in calls? Check the local child league game schedules.

Bad weather - I'm talking really bad weather. Wind storm knocks out power? Call increase. Thunderstorm floods half the town? Call increase. Blizzard piles snow too high to get out of the house? Call increase.

First freeze of the season - a lot of homeless couples are extremely dysfunctional and abusive, and the freeze is usually the tipping point.

The first couple of really warm weeks in summer - these calls are nearly always based around arguments that start out being about swimwear.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has made no secret of his desire for a manlier military.

He consistently argues that the US Armed Forces lowered their combat standards in order to include women. He’s staged various photo ops in which he exercises and pumps iron with service members. In his speeches, Hegseth says that the Trump administration is restoring a “warrior ethos” to its legions of “war fighters.”

Now he has a rather dubious plan to guarantee that the troops are as macho as possible: testosterone screenings and, in cases where an individual’s testosterone is judged to be deficient, voluntary hormone therapy.
