I will say that it's been wild watching people go "fascism bad", when they're the same exact people who have been pushing fascism for almost 2 years.

Because these people don't view fascism as bad, they just view right wing fascism as bad, they view it as bad only when they're oppressed.

Because leftists for the almost past two years have been shouting for Israelis who have left Israel, immigrated to other countries to be deported. Deporting immigrants good apparently if it's immigrants you don't like. Kinda sounds like right wingers when they are fine with European immigrants, sorry "expats", but dislike any brown or black immigrants.

Protecting minorities good until it comes to jews being physically attacked on campus when walking to class, or when jews in Australia are doxxed en masse. Or when a 12 year old jewish girl is raped.

The core component of fascism, killing people who disagree with you, is bad, unless it's those darn joos with their zionism, because killing zionists is good and not at all a sign of fascism.

I say this as a leftist, as someone who holds leftist values, the left as a fascism problem. The far left in its current form, does not care about actually helping people, about improving the lives of those underserved by the government. They don't care about preventing fascism, they just want to be the ones doing it.

I went to a poetry workshop yesterday that was genuinely quite good but also included an option to disclose astrology designations during introductions and so many people broke out some variation of "I'm a [x] sum but I have a [y] placement and it SHOWS" girl no it doesn't. that's meaningless correlation you completely invented the causation

That most common new cars now record your sexual preferences and send it to the manufacturer (and also data about anyone who also gets in your car, walks by your car, and maybe happens to be within visual range of your car)? That grocery stores are trying to force customers to download an app to scan barcodes on shelves instead of putting up prices, so the app can scan the phone, decide how much that customer should be squeezed for, and adjust the price? That more and more innocent people are being sent to jail for crimes committed hundreds of miles away because an AI facial recognition algorithm spit their faces out and the cops didn't bother to do the most basic of checks?

I am not uptight about privacy because I'm hiding something. I'm uptight about it because the people who dismiss my right to privacy are dangerous to you and me and our families, personally, all the time.
