I awoke this morning to another beautiful heart-forward and healing post from @_lisaolivera inspired by another wise woman I follow, @andrearanaej ⁣ Andrea is inviting us to explore the question, "I want to live in a world where...". ⁣ We can talk endlessly about what needs to change, where we have gone wrong, or what is missing in our world. However, dreams are not seeded in sorrow but in hope. The more enlivening question is: ⁣ ::: What do we want to co-create for our future? ::: ⁣ As a hypnotherapist who works with the transformational power of words and visioning, I can tell you that dreaming it forward is much more empowering than analyzing it backward. ⁣ As we say in the NLP world, "Where your attention goes, energy flows." ⁣ So, my loves: What do you envision for our future? I’ve been thinking quite a bit about Courage lately. Holding space for others in their high anxiety and fear calls for this conversation on a daily basis: ⁣ What does it mean to be courageous? How do we grow our courage? How does it show up in the body? ⁣ As I've explored Courage as one of the antidotes to high anxiety, I’ve come to realize that courage takes many different forms: ⁣ For some, being courageous is taking decisive action in dangerous situations. For others, being courageous is tenacity, showing up even when things get tough. Some reveal great courage when they share their authentic voice, no matter how shaky, no matter the results. ⁣ For all of us, courage comes alive in the body. It is not a mental process, but a somatic experience that helps us become courageous. We grow our courage by attending to how it feels in the body as Embodied Courage. ⁣ When I embody courage, it doesn’t feel like earthy strength or a passionate fire of confidence. Yes, I’ve been told I am a grounding presence. But when I am most afraid and I call forth courage, it shows up as a warrior of the heart. ⁣ My warrior of the heart is quiet but resolute, and deeply compassionate. She arises to hold myself and others in spaciousness and endless possibility, where the heart remains open to love what is. This particular form of courage is my sacred practice ground for a lifetime. In yoga, we call the warrior of the heart the Bodhisattva. ⁣ In today’s Breath of Fresh Air we explored how courage arises in the body, and how embodied courages feels within each of the major 4 elements. These are bewildering days. The truth is, life is always uncertain. Change is the only constant. ⁣ But now?
