Regular bears tell stories of angel bears sent by the Bear God, pure white and twice as strong as any normal bear could be, who rule the summit of the Earth and kill all who stand in their path.

And they are right, those bears exist and totally do that. Humans just have fake angels as a cope.

Following a disastrous battle, two warriors, Delmonte and Trin, desert their posts and set out west for Delmonte’s homeland. Trin is in dangerous territory; his tribe was infamous for its command of the undead, especially throughout the war. He must disguise his identity and ability throughout the journey, but there’s one problem.

Delmonte is dead, and without Trin’s power animating his corpse, he’ll never make it home.

Bit of a change of pace, but I figured it might be fun to share more of my original writing with the world. This story originated as a submission for a sword-and-sorcery competition, but it didn’t go through, so now I’m sharing it with all of you!
