variation in your day to day life is one of those things that’s really important to me. I think it’s both instantly gratifying and good for one in the long term to practice to do things outside of what you usually do not that it has to be a whole thing in itself although it does help to be able to immerse yourself into it fully. It can be as simple as trying a new food you never have or taking a different route to a location you usually visit but the pay off varies with what it in question you are doing. Ultimately I think at my happiest I just entertain my whims from going to the lake and downing a beer while fishing despite fishing being something id probably find boring these days because it is a deviation from my everyday life. I think these kind of things help with memory issues and reminding one of the agency in their own life I don’t know if this is a universal need there are probably a ton of people at peace and content doing the same things everyday. For me i probably most feel this way because at my worst for years i just experienced the same things without much change and it lowkey made me kinda crazy so i view entertaining adventurous whims as a virtue
