you were in the living room with malachi, his parents and family that decided to visit after he just came back from filming camp rock 3, right after the DZ: Worlds Collide tour.

malachi was completely out, face buried in the crook of your neck, arms draped limply around your waist like he’d been part of the couch for days. he was understandably tired, not able to rest fully for months. his breaths were slow and steady, little hums of comfort slipping out every now and then. you sat there, gently scratching at his scalp, fingers threading through his messy hair, letting him rest while the family quietly observed.

felicia leaned back in her chair, smiling fondly. “he’s completely at ease… only with her,” she murmured, sipping her tea.

loren chuckled softly. “he trusts her so much. you can see it in how heavy he is… he’s comfortable for the first time in months.”

mal’s aunt and uncle, still wide-eyed, were leaning in a little closer, whispering to each other. “wow… he’s really… just melted into her lap,” his aunt said, shaking her head in disbelief.

“i’ve never seen him like this,” his uncle added, smirking. “he’s usually all charm and energy. and now… look at him. glued.”

the little cousins continued to run around, squealing and bumping into furniture, but mal didn’t stir. he just shifted slightly every time someone bumped nearby, nuzzling deeper into your shoulder.

“are you sure you’re just friends?” his aunt teased quietly, looking at the way he melted into you. “doesn’t look like that to me.”

“bestest of friends, huh?” one of the little cousins piped up, leaning over the arm of the couch to get a better look. mal didn’t move—didn’t even flinch. he just exhaled softly, completely comfortable, letting you scratch at his scalp and play with his hair.

“he’s adorable,” another cousin said, smiling. “and you’re so… calm with him.”

you hummed softly, continuing to run your fingers through his hair, the warmth of his body pressed against you. the room was full of soft laughter and teasing, but you didn’t care. mal was completely out, trusting you completely, letting you be his safe spot while everyone around whispered and laughed about how ridiculously clingy and soft he was.

every now and then, mal made a little sleepy noise, shifting just enough to press closer into you again, and you smiled quietly, keeping him steady and warm, letting him fully relax in your lap while the family continued to chatter and tease.

in that moment, with mal fully asleep and your fingers threading through his hair, the chaos around you faded—everything else just softened around the two of you.

First off: Adorable. I miss these costumes. I am certifiably corny and proud don't @ me.

Second off: The thing with Dick and Kory getting married??? And the arc that follows, where after some interpersonal conflict Dick gets to prove how much he loves Kory by sacrificing himself in the middle of battle, and in turn Kory gets to prove how much she loves Dick by not killing even though she's been trying to this entire run?

They're holding hands. You're out here thinking this is some shitty tertiary spin-off of an event comic but they're holding hands.

And getting to see acrobatics in the Discowing costume is my absolute favorite thing ever. There's so much flare. So much pizazz.

He feels like a performer. He's carrying his parents' legacy. Man.

This has to be at least the third time I've said it, but I would actually kill a man for a series like "Batman and Robin: Year One" centered around exploring the past but with this era of the New Teen Titans.

I don't even care how much is original and how much is retold with modern sensibilities. I'd happily reread most arcs with cool modern art reinterpretations (not that the 80s art isn't some of my favorite of all time; it'd just be neat). Just having the unironically wholesome, unapologetically goofy, corny-ass Titans in a world of edgy gruff anti-heroes would be enough.

Project Hail Mary x TRANSFORMERS. Bayverse, Prime, whatever floats you're boat. Personally I like Bayverse (sue me)

Grace and Rocky end up drifting by Cybertron. The Autobots pick up the Hail Mary on radar or whatever the fuck they have, and of course are wondering "what the hell is that", and they try and hail the ship. Nothing. So, they go up there, and bring the Hail Mary down to Cybertron. They look in the window and it's Grace and Rocky looking back like a pair of raccoons that just got caught raiding the trash.

So once Grace isn't on the brink of absolutely freaking the hell out, they call Optimus because "holy shit, there's a human up here, why the fuck is a human up here". When Optimus finds out Grace was forced on the Hail Mary and sent to more or less die... Earth

Ollie seeks out Bruce because they have so much in common - coming back to a life you (unintentionally) abandoned, being a head of a company, faking it for the cameras — but Bruce pushes him away because he doesn’t think it’s right to lie to Ollie, or to risk him making connections between Bruce Wayne and Batman. connections he’s uniquely suited to make.
