Kori: Excellent. That I can do. I will not take lives on titan missions when you're there nor will I do my victory screech unless you request it.

Dick: I do love that scream. Deal. Okay, we both have the option to be open in our dating. No lies, but we always go back to each other.

Kori: Agreed. Which leads me to my confession... I'm pansexual.

Dick: Does that mean—

gonna say that dick and kory are presumed missing in the kids' timeline so when they see a younger dick, peter and mar'i are the two who know/vaguely remember him while jake has no idea. also the three of them are being raised by uncle jason cause I say so

I've been thinking about Kori and Dick teaching Mar'i and Jake about their heritage. Dick teaching them how to speak Romani, specifically Angloromani. (I feel like that is the dialect he would be most familiar with.) Kori cooking traditional Tamaranean food (especially her own favorites) and teaching her kids how to make it when they are old enough. Dick going all out with teaching them different Romanian folk dances, even showing them a video of his parents dancing at their wedding night. Kori teaching them about all the constellations and different planets surrounding Tamaran, and putting them to sleep with the stories and songs of her childhood.

I just love the idea of Dick and Kori passing on their heritage to their kids, and in the process, reconnecting with it themselves.

Dick was raised by a (well-meaning) wealthy, White billionaire. Said wealthy White billionaire that doesn't even acknowledge his own heritage at all. (Bruce is Jewish) Don't get me wrong, I don't think Bruce would ever stop Dick from practicing his culture, but I feel like his emotional distance would make it hard. Dick was a little kid who just lost his parents in a horrific way, and was adopted into a completely brand new lifestyle. I don't think he would even know that he could keep some of his parent's traditions alive, and I don't think Bruce ever knew that he should invite Dick to do so.

Kori, on the other hand, is an immigrant that came here to Earth from an entirely different world. (And she didn't come here willingly, she fled here) She had to quickly adapt to the way of life here: new customs, new languages, and new types of people. No one spoke her language. No one knew anything about her traditions (and some of them were seen as strange or weird by others.) And in most situations, she couldn't stand out, she had to blend in to avoid being hurt for being an alien. She has been and always will be a proud Tamaranean, but I think she lost touch with some of her culture because there wasn't many outlets to express it.
