gonna say that dick and kory are presumed missing in the kids' timeline so when they see a younger dick, peter and mar'i are the two who know/vaguely remember him while jake has no idea. also the three of them are being raised by uncle jason cause I say so

I've been thinking about Kori and Dick teaching Mar'i and Jake about their heritage. Dick teaching them how to speak Romani, specifically Angloromani. (I feel like that is the dialect he would be most familiar with.) Kori cooking traditional Tamaranean food (especially her own favorites) and teaching her kids how to make it when they are old enough. Dick going all out with teaching them different Romanian folk dances, even showing them a video of his parents dancing at their wedding night. Kori teaching them about all the constellations and different planets surrounding Tamaran, and putting them to sleep with the stories and songs of her childhood.

I just love the idea of Dick and Kori passing on their heritage to their kids, and in the process, reconnecting with it themselves.

Dick was raised by a (well-meaning) wealthy, White billionaire. Said wealthy White billionaire that doesn't even acknowledge his own heritage at all. (Bruce is Jewish) Don't get me wrong, I don't think Bruce would ever stop Dick from practicing his culture, but I feel like his emotional distance would make it hard. Dick was a little kid who just lost his parents in a horrific way, and was adopted into a completely brand new lifestyle. I don't think he would even know that he could keep some of his parent's traditions alive, and I don't think Bruce ever knew that he should invite Dick to do so.

Kori, on the other hand, is an immigrant that came here to Earth from an entirely different world. (And she didn't come here willingly, she fled here) She had to quickly adapt to the way of life here: new customs, new languages, and new types of people. No one spoke her language. No one knew anything about her traditions (and some of them were seen as strange or weird by others.) And in most situations, she couldn't stand out, she had to blend in to avoid being hurt for being an alien. She has been and always will be a proud Tamaranean, but I think she lost touch with some of her culture because there wasn't many outlets to express it.

Kori was stealing his food.

And not just a bite or two.

A significant portion of it.

Dick watched her as she ate bite after bite of his

cheeseburger without hesitation.

"Is that good?" he asked with a smile on his face

"Yes it is quite delicious Richard" she responded

"It looks quite familiar" Dick said.

"It should, it's yours" Kory replied.

" Oh yeah! thats right" he laughed. 

Starfire looked at him and then went back to chomping away at the burger he ordered.

"Can I at least get a bite of the burger that I ordered" dick said.

"I don't know I'll think about it" Kori Replied.

Dick giggled a little to himself and thought as long as shes happy.

"Fine, but you're getting the next one" Dick said.

"You have a deal" Kori responded.

As their late-night post patrol dinner was almost over. 

Rain began to tap softly on the window of their.

apartment and there was the faintest sound of music coming from the radio. Dick and Kory felt a peace wash over them both.

This was the perfect way to celebrate a successful mission...well almost perfect.

Dick all of a sudden was inspired by the music playing in the background, so he softly rose from his chair and turned it up.

Then dick asked Kori quietly 

"Would you Dance with me Kor?" 

"I'd be delighted to" she responded 

So dick took her hand and led her around the living room slowly.

As they swayed to the music Dick couldn't help but admire his girlfriend.

Kori saw the way her boyfriend was looking at her and

 she asked him "what are you looking at?"

"you" he replied.

"What about me?"she responded.

"The fact that you're gorgeous and all mine"Dick replied.

"Well I could say the same thing about you" Kori said

"What? That I'm pretty? No no Kori it's handsome" Dick replied 

" You know what I mean you brat" Kori Replied.

Dick loved Kori's feistyness and her teasing side  

Most people assumed starfire was so innocent, but little did they know that she could be so fiery and sexy all at once.

A rather dangerous combo sick thought to himself

Gosh how she teases.

She is a rather...throbbing distraction

And as the music started to die and as koris and his dance started to end.

It was almost like she could read his mind because the next minute Dick knew he was being dragged to his bedroom.

Kori giggling all the way like a teenager.

She kissed him and then shut the door.
