She’s so fucking pretty!? Like genuinely so fucking beautiful? Her skin reminds me of dark, fish autumn honey, her eyes shine in the sun like pools of molten copper and bronze. Her laugh is so cheesy but so fucking adorable, and she has a subtle southern accent I could listen to for HOURS.

She reminds me of the sun, my girl. It feels like my very soul knows hers, like we’ve been connected for eons before. Just being around her fills me with warmth like the first ray of sun breaking through the clouds after a storm. She is like the summer sun, bringing life and light wherever she goes.

She’s my Sunshine. I’ve called her that since day one, and it’s so, so fitting for her. To be brazen, I’d even go so far as to call her my soulmate. I want to spend the rest of my life at her side.

I want to set a space on our home for her alters, fill our kitchen with ingredients and homegrown herbs. I want to write our names in paint on the doorframe as we lay down the first coat. I want to jokingly argue over what color to paint our kitchen, what set of dishes we want. I want to build and keep a home with her.

Humans are so fascinating.

It's so easy to become used to something one is comfortable with. To develop a routine, it seems, in but a few days.

I recently began moving into a house with one of my best friends. It's a family home that their grandfather owns and still has belongings of other family members in it. We are not fully moved in. But.

We have staying in the house as much as we can, me on the weekends and my roommate nearly full time.

So tell me why I've become so accustomed to waking to their voice? To always being near them? To anticipating their movements and behaviors?

We just spent a weekend out of town together and shared a hotel room with two of our mutual friends. My roommate and I shared a bed. And now, back at the house I'm moving out of.. I find it's much harder to sleep, feels empty and silent without my roommate. I've never lived with anyone but family and I've never felt like this.

My every thought is of going home to them and our cats even though I do not live there full time yet. And my family (who I still live with) are getting on my last nerve. I've started dreading going home because the house my things are in is not my home any longer.

So yeah, humans are fascinating.
