Fat people are allowed to exist in public. Fat people are allowed to go to pools and ride bikes and go on hikes. Fat people are allowed to go to the gym. Fat people are allowed to go to restaurants and museums and zoos. Fat people are allowed to wear whatever they want and eat whatever they want.

Fat people are allowed to be bad at things. Fat people are allowed to walk slowly in public, doggy paddle or swim with floaties in the pool, wobble on bikes, and go on easy hikes and turn around early. Fat people can be picky at restaurants or be bored at a museum or choose to sit on a bench instead of walking around at the zoo. Fat people can have terrible fashion sense and eat only fast food.

But Will also does the same thing!! Margot, like Hannibal, has a softer, more welcoming demeanor on the outside as well as obviously more manipulative tendencies and a good idea of what she wants. She’s a dark blonde with a rounder face and all the trappings and graces of high society. Will even envisions Hannibal as the stagman while in bed with her to climax. Molly, too, is an example of this— she’s a dark blonde with curvier features, she fulfills a more domestic role by cooking and keeping house and even advises Will about his FBI work and offers her support. She was likely just as profoundly lonely and aching as he was without Hannibal and vice versa when they met, recently widowed.

Wally, though, is an interesting piece of this. Hannibal insults Will’s “ready-made family”, but this is the same thing he tried to do with Abigail. Wally has dark hair, he seems quieter, self-assured and even wary of Will at times. Perhaps he reminded Will of a combination of Abigail and the dead child of his that Margot could’ve had. Will and Abigail actually had a lot of similar features, too.
