i read somewhere a while back that roses benefit from being surrounded by grasses for whatever which reason but after years of observing roses growing in places that they shouldn't be i'm starting to believe that roses don't really like growing alone here i think they like to be accompanied by other plants maybe for the stability and protection from herbivory unclear though i'm just thinking
