I feel like Delphine and Mrs. S from Orphan Black are so so so so similar, but It's 2:20am and I don't have time to get into all of that right now.

@lebanesetoaster It's no longer 2:20am, so some brief thoughts on Delphine and Siobhan:

They're both secretive and keep their loved ones in the dark about their plans and connections.

They think they know better than the ones they love and they do things behind their back with the belief that they're doing it for their own good. This has led to them both betraying their loved ones trust.

By season 3, they are both the ones willing to do the hard things; the less than savory things; the things they know will tarnish their relationships with their loved ones.

But they are both so so so protective of the people they love and they're willing to do terrible things to keep them safe. Siobhan trades Helena for Sarah and Kira at the end of season 2. Delphine's entire arc in season 3 is about her doing the fucked up shit with Dyad to keep Cosima and her sisters safe. Sarah and Cosima may end up hating them for the things they do, but that doesn't matter as long as they're safe.

I think the main difference is, Delphine is at the beginning of her journey when we meet her and at odds with herself, while Siobhan has been doing this for a lifetime and is comfortable in her role. I personally feel like Siobhan is a glimpse of who Delphine could be in the future. But because the sisters are safe now, she won't have to be that. She can soften and just be with Cosima.
