- hot take: the fans being overly critical of john winchester (i hate him too, but some of yall make him actually genuinely heinously evil in fanfics. im still anti-john but holy shit he is not the most evil character on the show. he was in like six episodes.)

- AVA WILSON. and the other psychic kids but specifically her: easily one of the funniest side characters spn ever introduced. got a vision of sam dying in an explosion and tracks him down to warn him and when he believes her she calls HIM weird. icon.

5 reasons why thanksgiving would a perfect premise for a season of the pitt

without further ado:

travel - thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year. pittsburgh is a MESS to drive in. downtown alone is a hellscape on earth on a light traffic day. now imagine filling those roads with out of towners who don’t know what a pittsburgh left is (local reference to make the pgh fans happy), amping up the road rage, and we’ve got motor accident patients out the wazoo. another aspect of the traffic that i think would be interesting to consider would be a traffic jam or an accident that caused an ambulance to get stuck on the road with a critical patient, leaving the paramedics to do emergency care in the field (now— is this realistic? probably not. my only knowledge of the medical profession besides this show is greys anatomy. im trying to stay grounded in realism with my predictions but also its fangirl hours let me have fun.) but by having the ambulance stuck in traffic, we can get more attention on the paramedics that we have met so far (like medic ziggler from szn 1 whos van got stolen cuz she left the keys inside) or meet new characters and maybe they have to call the er and talk through a procedure IDK. probably too over dramatic but hey i think insight into the paramedics, medics, and emts would be cool.

the pitt loves to talk social commentary, and thanksgiving is a loaded vessel for that. they can tackle the injustices that indigenous people faced back then because of the colonists and today because of continued imperialism. they could tackle how thanksgiving is a holiday where family members with differing political views are forced together and tensions grow heated. perhaps one of the fighting family members is injured or gets sick, and then they bring the political argument with them into the ER. maybe something in this debate could be a topic thats explored by the writers and has nothing to do with thanksgiving at all. the socio-political commentary possibilities are endless.

the cases. THE COMEDY. we got traffic and thatll be chaos, we have an accidental allergic reaction from an unlabeled dessert, theres a burn victim from a deep fried turkey gone incredibly wrong, someones gonna shove a turkey baster up their ass because how have we NOT seen anything like that yet, some kind of injury from a backyard football game gone bad, the worst case of food poisoning the ER has ever seen that maybe isnt food poisoning (again idk how illness works and if thatd be realistic), maybe someone used and electric turkey carver and well yk. THE CASES. THE COMEDY. of course not all of the cases will be comedic, but cmon. turkey. baster. up. the. ass.

robbys sabbatical is three months, and thanksgiving is a little over four months after july 4th, meaning he’s back at work for a month at this point (assuming he goes on the sabbatical still). i think this is smarter because weve already had a “first day” plotline for a few characters in season one, and a month into the adjustment period can allow for more of a balance between the “im ready/used to this” and the “im not ready/used to this” whereas day one i feel would skew more towards the latter for robby, and overall feel like a repeat of his season two arc. we could also see robby in the midst of him going to therapy for the first time and how that process looks on him. i think were going to get robby in therapy in season three no matter what, but the timing is DELICIOUS for thanksgiving.

being thankful! the pitt likes to end on a glimmer of hope for the fans. this isnt a show about doom and gloom despite all the theories that predict people dying and villainous intentions by characters who really just represent real people. and what better way to show how not doom and gloom the pitt is by leaning into the “being thankful” aspect of thanksgiving. the writers could use the idea of gratefulness to further the themes of mental health and vulnerability to compound on past seasons so so easily. we can have some tender family moments with the patients. i yearn for a friendsgiving moment for santos and mel and their new friendship in the midst of beccas new relationship and santos’s well everything. also: dana telling everyone to thank your fucking nurses.
