Personally I’ve been doing whatever I want so far lol. I am fortunate enough to work for a unionized district that pays me well (and have no kids lmao!) so I was able to save up enough during the school year to cover my bills for a couple months, but it varies person to person. Some districts will give the option to “smooth” paychecks so that you can spread 9 months of pay over 12 months (so smaller checks overall, but you have summer income). A lot of teachers do get second jobs or teach summer school, and most will do gig stuff to make extra cash (usually childcare/tutoring) here and there over the summer which is probably what I’ll end up doing after I get back from this trip I’m going on
