In case anyone hasnât heard JRRT himself reading Theodenâs epic lines at the Battle of Pelennor Fields, hereâs how it should be done :)
I always love how expressive he is when reading things aloud.

The Umbrella Academy: The Puppy Interview
ok but if bruce wayne somehow came upon zuko fresh out of banishment he would lose his mind.
black hair? check. bad parent(s)? check. trauma? double check.
bruce: howâd you get your scar?
zuko: my dad got mad at me for saying that killing people is wrong so he lit my face on fire and banished me.
bruce, vibrating with excitement, already pulling adoption papers from his utilility: thatâs terrible. how do you feel about capes.
Zuko: Do you mind if I wear this blue demon mask?
Bruce: *sniff, tear in his eye* Not at all.
*Zuko fighting the Joker*
J: "wan na kno w h ow i go t thes e sc ar s"
Z: *rips off mask* i don't give a fuck
Iâm still stuck at the âbatman has adoption papers in his utility beltâ.
âQuick, itâs time to use the Bat-adoption papers!â
Bat-option papers
Okay, but youâre missing the best part of this.
Alfred and Iroh complimenting each other on tea while they discuss their overly dramatic children.
iroh: once, i told zuko that he needs to work on his inter turmoil. he screamed at me that he had no such inner turmoil, and then proceeded to go to a cliff during a thunderstorm to scream at God to strike him with lightning
alfred: master bruce and i have that interaction at least three times per week.
@absentlyabbieâ
I see your "Alfred and Iroh as tea bros" and raise you "Alfred and Iroh as tea rivals"
Consider
Iroh: you too must learn patience. Boiling the water ruins the delicate flavor of the white jade
Alfred: oh I'm dreadfully sorry - for some reason I expected this tea to have TEA in it
(later)
Alfred: *aggressively laying out full tea service with milk, lemon, sugar, and, just to drive his point in, jam*
Iroh: *dying inside*
excellent addition
hey bruce spent a lot of his bat-study abroad in the far east and has kind of a weeb weapon collection so proposal, what if Bruce appreciates Irohâs tea
while Zuko is enthusiastic about cream and sugar
further fueling their dad-figuresâ passive-aggressive rivalry?
You had me at Zuko vs. Joker, I was crying by the Eastern vs. Western tea service
Wait a minute. Batman and Zuko have the same arch-nemesis.
Mark Hamill
Saw the last comment and my brain would not rest until it happened
this post has everything
this was an enjoyable ride. i liked the scenery very much. smooth suspension, nice height, several fascinating loops. 10/10 would go again.
Wow I'm tired. It took me a minute to figure out how Vader has Mark Hamill nemesis when Vader is live action and not animated. I'm... going to bed now.
#lowkey I think 'bugs bunny would've worn that' is high praise but that's just me
It didn't occur to me for even a moment that it might not have been. I'll assume it was.
i don't say this very often so you can trust me when i say for the love of god please unmute

How the media depicts the Apollo 11 mission:
Actual quotes from the Apollo 11 mission:
Lol, I saw this on TikTok and thought I would share here, too. Credit goes to @rhondatoksaboutbooks on TikTok. The video can be found at this link.
Edit: I added image descriptions to the images. There is also a reblog with the image descriptions if that's easier for you. đ
Unrestrained summer fun đ
this must be such a delicate experience for a creature that can dive two stories deep and has been seen cliff diving into the ocean
Such a quiet and gentle experience for a megafauna cryptid that can headbutt a speeding truck and walk away Itâs like seeing Godzilla in a kiddie pool
During a summer heat wave in Alaska growing up (yes itâs a thing), my dad had several sprinklers and a tractor sprinkler going in the yard. From the woods behind the house suddenly came two young babies and a very large mother.
They came directly towards the tractor sprinkler and sat right down.
My dad verrrrry slowly pulled the hose of the other sprinklers, and repositioned them in the backyard so they would spray grass under the shade of several trees.
Lo and behold, the mother moose got up, walked over to the water now pooling beside these trees, and plomped down. The two babies followed after and just fell over in the cool water.
there needs to be so much more legislation when it comes to advertising, especially mobile adverts which are 99% lies and often predatory.
my suggestions:
-adverts cannot lie about the product they are advertising
-adverts cannot trick you into clicking them (eg. false X's to close the ad)
-adverts cannot pretend to be the app you are currently playing and say "you need to update the app!"
-adverts cannot, under any circumstance, have strobing lights
-adverts cannot bully or belittle the viewer (genuinely why is this one a thing ads do)
-advertising gambling should be illegal
-advertising addictive products should be illegal
-no hate speech of any kind
-no attempting to convert the viewer to any religion
-ADVERTS SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FORCE OPEN THE APP STORE ON ANY DEVICE
I'd also add to the "false x" point above -- the ad must be easy to close/dismiss. None of these too small a set of pixels to accurate tap with a finger thing.
Once closed, an ad cannot return nor can it be replaced with a new ad.
Once you hit the x it should immediately close the ad instead of taking you to another stage of the ad that you will not be able to close for a certain amount of time
the company distributing (google, facebook) the ads will be held liable if the ads violate

Things I wish I had read in âbeginnerâ sewing tutorials/people had told me before I started getting into sewing
You have to hem *everything* eventually. Hemming isnât optional. (If you donât hem your cloth, it will start to thread. There are exceptions to this, like felt, but most cloth will.)
The type of cloth you choose for your project matters very much. Your clothing wonât âfall rightâ if itâs not the kind of stretchy/heavy/stiff as the one the tutorial assumes you will use.
Some types of cloth are very chill about threading, some are very much not. Linen doesnât really give a fuck as long as you donât, like, throw it into the washing machine unhemmed (see below), whereas brocade yearns for entropy so, so much.
On that note: if you get new cloth: 1. hem its borders (or use a ripple stitch) 2. throw it in the washing machine on the setting that you plan to wash it going forward 3. iron it. Youâll regret it, if you donât do it. If you donât hem, itâll thread. If you donât wash beforehand, the finished piece might warp in the first wash. If you donât iron it, it wonât be nice and flat and all of your measuring and sewing will be off.
Sewingâs first virtue is diligence, followed closely by patience. Measure three times before cutting. Check the symmetry every once in a while. If you canât concentrate anymore, stop. Yes, even if youâre almost done.
The order in which you sew your garmentâs parts matters very much. Stick to the plan, but think ahead.
Youâll probably be fine if you sew something on wrong - you can undo it with a seam ripper (get a seam ripper, theyâre cheap!)
You can use chalk to draw and write on the cloth.
Pick something made out of rectangles for your first project.
I recommend making something out of linen as a beginner project. Itâs nearly indestructible, barely threads and folds very neatly.
Collars are going to suck.
The sewing machine canât hurt you (probably). There is a guard for a reason and while the needle is very scary at first, if you do it right, your hands will be away from it at least 5 cm at any given time. Also the spoils of learning machine sewing are not to be underestimated. You will be SO fast.
I believe thatâs all - feel free to add unto it.
When your sewing machine becomes unruly and recalcitrant and mulish, unthread it completely both bobbin and spool, and rethread it from the ground up. Donât just like, try to troubleshoot which step of the threading has come un-hooked or whatever, just fuckin re-do the whole thing trust me just do it. After a few months of this you will become SO GOOD at threading. And then it will be no biggie at all and one day you will just fix the loop that came unhooked from step 3 of 7 and then you have graduated from needing to re-do it all from scratch every time.
For loose/unfitted things where the side seam and sleeve seam line up, sew the sleeves on first and THEN close up the sleeve and side seam all in one! Itâs so much easier and more efficient that way, and I have seen a shocking amount of people make their lives harder for no reason by finishing the sleeve first. (Obviously this doesnât work for tailored jackets and coats and stuff, but you should be doing it for shirts and nightgowns.)
Pinning your pattern pieces to your fabric wrinkles it up and makes things less precise, try holding them down using weights instead. (I always look for glass paperweights whenever Iâm at the thrift store.)
There are businesses that sharpen things, and you can take your shears to them. If youâve inherited your Grandmaâs old shears then they probably need sharpening.
Check your machineâs manual to see if it needs oiling, and how often and where. If itâs a vintage machine you can probably find the manual online, and the vintage ones definitely need oiling.
