Well, it's official

SDCC 2026 will have the first Jem based Transformer with a Jem inspired redeco of Blaster and three cassettes (each named after character from the... shudder.. Kiss Players part of the TF mythos. Click on that link at your OWN peril, I have warned you)

A couple of people reached out to me first thing this morning because of an exciting announcement from Hasbro Entertainment. The Hasbro Ent. execs notified me last week that this was coming up. For those who haven’t seen it yet, there is a Jem live-action series in development for Amazon. From what I’ve read about the primary woman involved, Lisa Joy, she is an impressive and talented woman, a writer/director/producer. She graduated from Harvard Law School before moving into entertainment, and has worked on some top tier shows: Pushing Daises, Westworld, The Peripheral, Fallout. What’s even better, the Hasbro execs tell me she loved Jem growing up, so she knows Jem. I would love it if that were to change, and I’ll let you all know if it does, but as this is only in the earliest stages of beginning development, I don’t expect to hear more for a while. Because I’m not involved, I have no idea what direction they want to go in. I think it’s probably a reboot for present time, but that’s purely a guess on my part. And of course, just because something goes into development doesn’t mean it will go into production. It looks promising with these people attached, but many things get developed that don’t get made. Think positive thoughts that this one will.
