I'm saying this because I think it's fun to terrorize cybertronians with how many things can kill their human. Extreme emotional distress? Dead. Bend them the wrong way? Extra dead. Shoot them in the head? 50/50 because I remember that one guy who had a bullet in his head for years and never noticed.

tell this to a bot as a joke during a sad movie and watch all movies that are even a little sad vanish from your movie library. spend an hour arguing that charlotte's web is NOT going to kill you(fail miserably. they're going after the disney movies now)

As much as I like looking at the similarities between cybertronians and humans in an in-lore context, I like it because of the irony. By all intents and purposes, they should be as different as can be. One race is made of flesh, the other metal. One is tiny, the other giant. One is so short lived their lives don't even amount to a blink, the other can live for so long they can watch the births of stars and planets and live to their primes.

Even down to their very lifeblood, they are different.

One is dark red, the other light blue.

They are, quite literally, the color negative of the other.

I made this supper quick, a very nondescript red puddle of nothing you need to worry about, and inverted the color to the puddle bellow that.

Blood and energon.

The difference might as well be written in their DNA and CNA respectively.

And yet.

And yet, they are so, so similar. Personalities, histories, habits, fears, hopes, griefs, desires... even sins.

The relationship humans and cybertronians have on a cosmic scale leaves me in awe.

whenever the idea that humans are unicron’s kids comes up I have want a bot to say that humans are destined to be naturally destructive bc of unicorn and for the human to be like so what??? cybertronians are directly made by a creator/life god, yet they’ve destroyed more planets and caused the extinction of just as many, if not more, species than humans?? themselves included! we haven’t even destroyed a single planet. unfortunately we are working on it-

Also holy shit because you literally pulled this perfectly into a yin and yang balance??? This race created by a being that represents life that live so long that they can't help but become destructive?? That they've destroyed entire planets within their lifetimes in a way that only feeds their creator's opposite??? How it could be a way to balance out their existence as something so long-lived that they actually might be unable to do anything but exactly that????? Holy shit.

And consider, while we may have not yet destroyed any planet so far, what we do have in the Way of Life going for us is that there is just. So. Many. Of. Us. A headcanon I've had is that while cybertronians are long-lived, and don't die easily... there aren't actually that many of them? Especially after the war. Their numbers would line up in the tens of millions before the war, but that's nothing in comparison to the billions of humans that live on earth. And a billion is such a hard number to comprehend because it's just. So big. 1,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 doesn't feel like a big difference, but it's not just, like, some extra zeros after a million. It's one million a thousand times over. Think about that!

So yeah, humans... there’s just so many of us. And I'm a firm believer that humans have a way easier time in reproducing than cybertronians do (in the context that they can reproduce in the “human way” or however you want to put it), so we have that going in the Way of Life for us too.

Also love how you pulled in the “death is a part of the circle of life” and how human of a perspective that is, because that's just not the way things are for cybertronians. While death is a part of a cycle for humans, death is just an end for cybertronians. There's no nourishing new life with your death for cybertronians—there's just not. It's the end. They return to the Well of the Allspark, and that's it. They don't think of an after, of what comes after them, but humans do. We literally have so many examples of humans leaving a legacy in some way, shape, or form. Family heirlooms, traditions, old practices, stories of famous people and what they've done in history... We've, in a way, extended our lifespans past our deaths in the way of who our descendants are.

and oh 100% I feel like there were always comparatively fewer cybertronians especially now that their species consists of like 5 guys </3 they definitely go people watch and mourn cybertron (if they were even alive to remember cybertron being full)

on the flip side of that, I think they’d be fascinated by the idea of human tradition and and all our different religions, and that’s nice and poetic until they realize it’s because we don’t know where we go the way they do. I think that’s a difference that would bother them. I didn’t fully consider how human the idea of death being part of the cycle is but like…yeah!! a cybertronian knows their spark goes to the well, but the most we have empirical proof of is what happens to our bodies. the trade off for being able to reproduce without relying on your creator god directly is not being brought into the world with any of that knowledge

Just having a silly thought about how fast Cybertronian’s tend to imprint, and humans vice versa.

Like Cybertronians make bonds that last millennia, and as seen with all the Cybertronian wars, they are VERY dedicated to their folks and their causes. Even stubbornly so.

So imagine your mech of choice being absolutely endeared with the intricacies that is you being human and witnessing all of that entertaining hot mess firsthand as your driver or pilot.

To the point the aggressive affection kicks in, and you unknowingly have cemented yourself in their spark, under the mental file of “MUST PROTECT”

All I’m saying is one day, for whatever reason, someone or something is messing with you (by your mech hidden in their alt mode) to the point it gets a bit physical, and you get shoved. Hard.

The sneering line of some demeaning size comment being made and the punch line being, “Oh yeah? Whatcha gonna do about it eh?”

And your mech, who has just been sitting there, engine’s rumbling with the furious fumes at the mistreatment of you, but not wanting to blow their cover, suddenly decides that they’ve (and you) have had ENOUGH. So they transform (very dramatically because that’s half the fun for some of them) and get in the face of said antagonist and with a low growl says,

“Why don’t you pick on somebody MY size instead, pipsqueak.” Defender of the weak and what not, or so they claim. Not wanting to admit that they had to bite back the internal processing urge to just squish said nuisance for you simply because they felt your EM field wilt in their prescence.

to them, being hunted is terrifying. to humans? not their first time.

human sees a fly and suddenly all their senses strain, tracking it through a room without moving, eventually catching it with a loud clap.

transformers remembering humans are prey.

jumping at unexpected movements, constantly being somewhat aware of their surroundings without any training.

transformers remembering that humans are predators.

they save the human from whatever scary thing happened and try to banter only for their human not to respond at all. they're just staring at them wide eyed and shaking and breathing hard, maybe even flinching when they try to reach for them. the person they know is just gone. and they start to panic a little because bots didn't evolve with predators and don't have a built-in fight or flight and humans are already so easy to physically break forever can what if they broke their human’s brain forever too??
