It's a dark and stormy night as Ruby and Neo aggressively fight each other on the rooftops of Remnant. Crescent Rose cuts through the sky, Ruby pivoting off of her back foot to keep the momentum going as the nimble Neopolitan dodges each swing.
Small cuts dig into her her clothes. Small knicks that cut a bit too close. Careless in some moments, Ruby closing the gap aggressively in others.
Then, a harsh clang rings out with the thunder, an expert perry knocks the giant scythe from Ruby's hands. It shakes the ground with its impact as the smug dual-haired woman thrusts her umbrella to Ruby's neck. The crimson huntress bursts into petals, flying through the air as Neo chases.
Ruby grabs her scythe.
Neo pulls her arm back.
Crescent Rose is drawn and is at the back of Neo's neck as Neo presses Hush's blade to Ruby's throat.
Lightning cracks the sky in two as the two women huff and puff, both staring into the other's eyes, waiting for the other to make a move. Waiting for that one twitch before they go for the kill.
Beep beep beep!
Ruby: Ooh, 5:00 already?
Both women put their weapons away and clock out on their scrolls.
Neo, signing: I'll get you next time.

You know, I'm pretty negative about a lot of things about RWBY. It's story, it's pacing, how it handles its themes, its worldbuilding.
...Jaune and Oscar's existence.

Sometimes it feels like my best friends out grew me. They grew up, got careers, are having families or planning to have them.
But me? Feels like I'm locked at a specific time in my life. Feels like I can't move forward. Feels like I haven't changed.

Could be, if CRWBY didn't focus his entire character as "Blake's crazy stalker ex"
Seriously, Adam got hoe'd so hard. There was no reason for him to be made into a chode except for CRWBY to get social brownie points. He should've been a boss fight that the entire team would have to work together to put down. They all should've had a motivation for wanting to stop him or some kind of conflict with him. Adam's death should've been a massive story beat.
Instead, it was an afterthought cause Yang was dog-walking him in the 1v1 and Blake joining in turned it into a stomp.
Guy cut off Yang's arm, like, six months ago or whatever the timeline is. And now, he's getting spanked like a freshman at pledge week.
