I don’t think we take advantage enough of the fact that Padmé is absurdly wealthy and probably wants to spoil Anakin so badly. And me while Anakin is very easy to shop for and has very humble tastes so Padmé gets this out of her system by commissioning elaborate artworks of him.

the reason "robot racism" is often a really stupid metaphor is the same reason that like. discrimination against demons or vampires or whatever doesn't work, is because there's often a pretty justified reasons humans are scared of vampires or robots or whatever, in a way that doesn't apply to real life minorities, like a fantasy author will be like "the reason vampires are discriminated against is because most of them and kill and eat people for fun and pleasure, and so humans respond by trying to kill them, isn't that so sad" and like no that's a perfectly fine reason to not trust vampires i think.

This right here is why the X-Men don’t work as a metaphor for specifically social bigotry. There are still interesting and compelling reasons and stories to tell with this set up. But structurally not real life minority really fits with the x men becuase as far as I know none of them can shoot lasers out of their eyes.

Phineas and Isabella having their first wedding anniversary in Paris as a do-over from when they were kids, they take a flight out there and have a nice hotel and a tour group schedule and they stop and smell the roses and get their portrait done by a street painter, and they're at a lovely restaurant three days into it and the conversation falls to an awkward silence and Isabella sort of smiles and goes, "Phineas, this trip has been wonderful..." He frowns. "But...?" Reluctantly, Isabella admits, "But, this is all so boring." And he sags with relief and says, "Oh, thank God, it wasn't just me," and then they turn the narrow streets of Paris into the world's largest game of pinball and run around in giant balls terrorizing the locals and they're both laughing so hard that it hurts and they can't stop smiling and the trip is much better once they decide to leave early and build a submarine to go deep-diving in the Atlantic on the way home.

I’ve always struggled with the dichotomy of Phineballa’s house when they get married, becuase they’re both insane but also Isabella probably wants to live in a white picket fence house with him.
