I haven't done anything with it (yet?), but I have this headcanon that—

Okay, so, the Eridian language sounds like music to us. There's lots of musical notes, high and low, and can often involve using their whole body to provide additional sounds/texture to bounce those sounds.

I have this headcanon that it's somewhat of a niche art form on Erid for Eridians to learn how to speak in monotone. The ability to convey deep and complex ideas with a carefully narrowed/controlled range of sound.

So, basically, Grace's voice sounds like the Eridian equivalent of a slam poet.

The Good Place really went off when they had Eleanor talk about her mother changing. Like, they really hit the nail on the head.

This is EXACTLY how it feels to see someone you love, someone who should've treated you so much better than they did, grow and change for the better. Like, part of you knows that they're better now and you shouldn't be mad, but part of you is like, "Then why didn't they do this before? Where was this change when I needed it? Was the reason why they were so awful...me?".

I know everyone makes a big deal out of the emotional moments in the "Chidi and Elanor Love Each Other" montage in the season 3 finale, but honestly, that's not the part that's the best. It's something that is very funny and VERY touching.

It's this moment. This one right here is how you know they love each other. See, Chidi teaches Elanor in every timeline... But here we see Elanor reaching out. She doesn't have a lot to offer Chidi, but she's TRYING. She's TRYING to teach him something that he doesn't know, and SHE IS IMITATING HIM not because it's a joke, but because she's using him as a model for love. This kind of imitation is a CLASSIC way for someone like Elanor to dip a toe into the pool of emotional vulnerability, into reciprocating effort and feelings.

AND HE'S TAKING HER SERIOUSLY. He's CLEARLY trying really hard to follow along, even though there's NO WAY this matters... Except it matters to her, so it matters to him.
