itinerary planning with adhd is so funny to me sometimes bc it's like:
>looking up potential souvenirs in vienna (where i'm staying) bc i have no idea what to buy there to bring home, if anything >see something on a random list about wachau valley apricots >i know foodie people. this feels like a good souvenir for them. what are these apricots and where can i buy related products? >immediately dive into several tab open spiral into wachau valley and apricots >learn a lot about apricot production in the wachau valley >discover during this research that wachau valley is very beautiful and a cool day trip from vienna >also discover that the best place to buy apricot-related souvenirs is directly in wachau >hm. should i spend part of my time in vienna going out this wachau valley place? >oh hey, there's the melk abbey, i've heard of that. it's nearby where i could buy apricot stuff >spend some time researching the melk abbey >oh hey a castle where richard the lionheart got imprisoned. i know about that. >spend some time researching the castle. >now very invested in this area of austria >research spiral into ease of access to getting there from vienna. many googlemaps options consulted. >discover it's very easy to get to and also there's a nice bike path along the danube >research spiral into different bike rental options. become an expert on the bike offerings and what's the optimal bike choice for this specific route thanks to reading many many travel forum posts. >at this point realize you've accidentally ended up rearranging your already planned day in vienna to instead do this day trip
ironically idek if i'll end up getting apricot-related souvenirs or not but i loveee the thought of biking along the danube with stops along the way at villages and orchards and such. absolutely one of my favorite types of traveling and going to be much more enjoyable to me than running around to different museums in vienna lmao. but the way i ended up adding this to my trip is like. peak adhd energy lmao.
