thinking about eva stratt being the first person on the “eva stratt is a monster” train, welcoming ryland grace aboard and knowing she believed in him more than anyone else.

they aren't easy to harm physically, takes a lot of effort to crack through their carapaces to cause actual damage. not impossible of course but if you can incapacitate your enemy from a distance and at a lesser risk to yourself, why wouldn't you?

on that note, what if thrums could also be used in warfare? synchronizing your forces into a loud, powerful note to disorient or knock out your enemies? try to synch with them to break their formation or strategies?
