I looked up a review of six leaders to get some numbers and all of them reliably falsely flagged published classics as AI; when the reviewer tested with human-authored court transcripts, they got an output of up to an 80% chance of being AI. When they input AI-generated text, the output was as low as a 42% chance of being AI (and down to a further 7% when the reviewer fed the generated text into another AI tool to rephrase it; when they had an AI tool redo the punctuation, that number went as low as 1%). Most of the tools ranked an AI-generated text as more likely to be a product of AI after the reviewer hand-edited portions of it, depending on the nature of the edits.
