I think the question of “if a tree falls in the forest and nobody’s around to hear it, does it make a sound?” is not a philosophical query about perception and existence but rather an exercise in the denial of one’s experience and the dissolution of knowledge. When unchecked false truth and misinformation seeps its way into rationale thought and allows for doubt to come in. A tree cannot express its own experience and thus is vulnerable to misdirection and manipulation. It opens up discussion into how you can be made to doubt what you know is true.
