The worst part about not getting to cure the Tranquil is that Cassandra just decides this on her own? The first thing I did when you learn there’s a cure to Tranquility was run to the library to try and tell Fiona, since she’s basically the mages’ leader and I figured she should know. And after the conversation with Cassandra where she’s all “oh, we have to study it before we tell anyone”, I was like yeah, no, and I tried to tell Fiona again.

But you can’t. And it’s ridiculous that the game doesn’t let us tell at least her, the leader of the mages, about this new information that directly affects mages.

And, like. This is just another example of one of my biggest problems with Inquisition. While it’s in character for someone from the Chantry to think that mages need decisions made for them, and I would accept that being Cassandra’s response, why can’t I argue? Not giving us the opportunity to say “this is not your decision to make, you do not have authority over the mages that you get to make choices for them, give the damn book to Fiona” means that not only is Cassandra’s character taking this Chantry stance, the game is taking that stance, and it’s forcing us to take it too.

I know quite a lot of trans men locally who are really active in social justice projects, anti-racism, anti-capitalism, anti-Zionist etc. But I've noticed that if I'm talking to one of them about something bad that happened to a trans woman at a local trans group, he'll often respond by saying "Oh, I don't think that can be right, there must be some other explanation."

I'll explain how it often happens that trans women are marginalised and kicked out of groups for really minor infractions (or even for no infraction at all), and he'll often say something like "Thanks for the info, that's worth being on the look out for, if it comes up."

Then I'll bring the conversation back to the example of the specific trans woman in the local area who had a bad thing happen to her at a trans group, and it'll be straight back to "Oh, I don't think that can be right, she must've done something worse."

It's like transmisogyny occupies this realm of "theoretical forms of oppression" that they can acknowledge as a possibility but never as a reality that happens in their own community to women that they know. It's really frustrating.

dragon age origins fishing minigame is a cute little one-time interaction with a fisherman at lake calenhad where if you have enough cunning u can catch some kind of fucked up lake monster which comes with a little codex entry elaborating on the rumours about lake calenhad & the circle tower

dragon age 2 fishing minigame is non-existent they just make a joke about how gross kirkwall harbour fish would be to cover up that they didn’t have time to make it. in the files there’s some crazy list of creatures you would have fished out of there and some cut codex entries you would have found with super relevant gallows lore that is now just not in the game and people discourse about whether it’s canon

dragon age inquisition fishing minigame was created when the devs took people's complaints about no fishing minigame in da2 way too seriously and battled with the game engine to make an extremely awkward, unrewarding, and time-consuming system available in like almost every map. people still do it because sitting there and fishing for half an hour is one of the only reliable ways to trigger party banter. some of the mosaics can only be found by fishing

dragon age the veilguard fishing minigame also never made it into the game, despite the fact that the concept art book has like a kind of bizarre amount of work on what all the fish would look like, because the mechanics were planned for when the home base was a submarine and then became unusable. some of the concept fish became in-game models which serve exclusively to provide jokes about cooking
