it’s about the girls, stupid

when i got really bad tuesday scaries last week (my work week starts on wednesday because of my internship schedule) I went to shower and when I came back my partner had pulled up a thread about ariana on r/autism to show me. one of the great acts of romance in my life and i'm not even joking

arianators are so interesting to me because I was always like "why would you stan someone you're clearly mad at all the time and barely like" but I think it's less of a case of all of them them genuinely stanning her and more of a chunk of the fanbase being people who zeroed in on her insecurity and the controversy around her and saw her as a potential lolcow. I think a lot of the circumstances around her and how she grew up in the public eye inadvertently attracted the kind of people who intentionally look for vulnerable/insecure people to use as punching bags.
