A year & a month ago I traded my only vacation [to #miamiartbasel ] for the year to unexpectedly & completely #altruistically (I really needed & wanted that #vacation , had saved for it for 6 months) #adopt this #beautiful #angel called Julius - now renamed #Snoopy since he was #saved from a #sad #CharlieBrown #Christmas in the pound 😭- from The #Atlanta #HumaneSociety while I was doing some Ad Executive Marketing & PR work for them. First #Thanksgiving entirely spent in a hospital, also first time I’ve ever spent more than 1 night in a hospital since I was born! For 8 Days/7 Nights exactly 😵 Missed #Thanksgiving altogether & they didn’t feed me for the first 48 hours even after I told them I had been fasting for 24 hours prior 😒 anyone #filming in #Atlanta from out of state, and #local #residents beware! This #hospital is arguably the worst hospital I’ve ever been to with the worst #doctors #medtechs #nurses / #RNs & #socialworkers Ive ever had the #misfortune of coming across 😡 try my best to not write any bad reviews, try to live by #thumpersrule from #bambi : “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all” but this last week was one of the longest & #worst ever in my #life because of the #medical & #illegal ( #malpractice worthy ) #rookiemistakes these #podunk #ignorant #indifferent #thoughtless #careless #healthcare #UNprofessionals made which were the exact same reasons I left #thepracticeofmedicine to become a #medicalinvestigator , journalist, & screenwriter - to share these horror stories with the public through research, journalism, storytelling & whistleblowing - so no one should have to suffer so much or endure the asinine shortcomings of these mad scientists & #villageidiots known as “doctors,” &/or their foolish lackeys (who truly put the “pathetic” in apathetic with their apathy towards the very people their one job is to help & save the lives of). Don’t trust these unethical careless crooks w/ your #life or loved ones lives ever, this hospital has shockingly done more damage than good to me for the second time in the last year alone when I trusted them to help me after very serious traumatic injuries they could have easily cured or helped resolve after just one day of thoughtful care but couldn’t even manage to do so much as one thing right. This hospital & the overly white privileged sexist racist silver haired dementia ridden doctors (all white elderly men who act like misogynistic Nazis from the 1940’s/50’s with their unethical experimentations & crimes against humanity) fossils from the Stone Age & their minions need to be replaced ASAP!! A young admirer recently asked me where I get my #confidence from - at which point I laughed to myself bc I’ve been mistaken for or falsely accused of #lowselfesteem #lackofconfidence as well as the complete opposite: #arrogance #bitch #snob etc. A #female coworker even once claimed on set gossip of me “acting like a princess “...{to which I laughed & responded #wow #dignity must be so rare these days that it’s mistaken for #royalty & the film executive was so caught off guard by the #hardcore #selfevident #truth of my response that #shetoo started #laughing & it diffused the awkward tension of what appeared to be unjustified jealousy/gossip}. It’s sometimes #ridiculous #rude #painful #insulting &/or #offensive to be judged like that no matter how well the accuser thinks they know you. In #medicine & in #filmmaking I was trained for over two decades (since a young teen) to #humbly #respect , #treat , & #serve #allpeople #equally but I don’t get my self-esteem or perceived confidence from people - if I did, I’d be unhappy my whole life constantly, worrying about what others think of me & trying to please everyone (which is impossible & a huge waste of time/energy/resources). Instead I chose to focus on education, then education gave me knowledge, & w/ that knowledge I had the wisdom to decipher btwn facts & fiction, to #adapt , decide whose opinions matter to me (if any), know myself, what I’m best at - what my purpose & greatest contributions to life potentially could be. Thanks to teachers/family/role models/friends, learned to surround myself with the best of the best people & such education equipped me with the skills & experiences necessary to achieve whatever it is I set my mind to - no matter how impossible or unattainable the goals may seem. Whether thru school or self-educating via work/life experience, independent study, regardless you can achieve the same courage, work ethics, persistence, & power to change yourself, your circumstances, others, & even the whole world if you really want to! In case anyone was wondering where I’ve been digitally for months/years (i kid of course, legal disclaimer 😉) - Just been out here building an empire that creates jobs locally & internationally, several global startups that solve the most crucial world problems like #poverty while taking care of the less fortunate be it strangers, best friends, or family - caretaking loved ones, every single day in every single way possible, giving my all to people first - while also halfway through grad schools; all while working over a decade in production on hundreds of sets, & writing over 12 scripts (features, pilots, shorts), & continuing my grad school education in between all the film/tv production work. Been blessed for the last 15+ years, developing 30+ life saving patents while working 4 full time jobs (amongst other research, writing, science, & art). Then one day, much sooner than expected in life & for the least of all my accomplishments, get recognized (after pretty much a lifetime of silent good deeds) for doing the the least of all my work 😂 Regardless, thank you for this feature, so grateful! This is a bittersweet honor because anyone truly educated or knowledgeable in medicine knows that our work - whether as scientists, artists, writers, politicians, humanitarians, etc - has just begun! The best people do it for humanity, not fame or fortune🙈too humbled to accept any honors, rewards, or recognitions for philanthropy - can’t wait for you to see my biomedical patents & all the truly impactful contributions to improve quality of & save the most lives! Hope if you are struggling through hard times that you can find strength in the perseverance of true stories from others, who against all odds, succeed just by committing to integrity: values, purpose, passions, virtues, & promises.
