Sam Reid: I think that Claudia's transformation -- for Lestat -- is more about Nicki than anything else; and it's about our adaptation and our perspective on Nicki. Lestat has seen what happens to someone when they are not prepared to become a vampire. Claudia is a bad choice to become a vampire, really really bad choice. And it's not what he wants because he's seen that pain, he's experienced that pain he's turned somebody who was not meant to be one, who lost their mind and he carries the guilt of that transformation. He loved him and he was miserable and he died and it was horrific. It took him over hundreds of years to get over it.
