Sorry for the tangent but the “pov you’re trying to talk to people in 2025” video made me realize that there’s this entire trend of (mostly) women making skits essentially berating women for being “too bitchy”. I’ve been getting this account recommended to me about this woman doing receptionist skits and they also play out in a similar way, the customer is super nice but the receptionist is like, not smiling and making the other person feel stupid. And there’s the “gen-z barista” skits too, and I’m sure many others, but I can’t help but feel like there’s something misogynistic (because it’s mostly women playing women performing customer service roles) and maybe also entitled boomerism going on because I’ve never had this type of interaction with someone (both as a customer service worker and a customer) but also even if someone was having a bad day, I never took it personally? Idk. And what stands out to me in these skits is how nice the other person is but is still getting the cold shoulder or being bullied meanwhile at my receptionist job people would come in yelling at me and being wrong about their appointments, so these videos make me skeptical. And I understand that these skits are exaggerated for comedic effect and that there does seem to be a shift in people being more “anti-social” and there’s room to have this conversation and there are genuinely awful people working jobs they shouldn't be. But 99% of the time I’m gonna be on the barista/customer service worker’s side, like the stupidity/entitlement they have to deal with on a daily basis while being minimum wage... but anyway, this makes me wonder if the “anti-social” classmate skits are also part of this trend that feels like they’re just shaming (mostly) women for not being “nice”.

I agree that most "toxic yuri (or yaoi or straight or whatever tbh)" relationships are abusive, but I think people ignore the abuse in most/all of these stories because it fits into some romanticized ideal of love (see the entirety of booktok).
