An observation I’ve made amongst my friend group irl is that the trans women I know will call themselves straight when dating men but trans men will call themselves queer when dating women; most exclusively date that gender respectively as well. When you date someone of your opposite gender do you refer to yourself/the relationship as straight or queer? Or is the label of the relationship a non factor and you don’t care lol.

you can say all evil people are ugly but at the end of the day i think it comes down to the same issue as when a bigot or rapist or whoever makes a good piece of art/media. it falsely implies that bigotry is easy to spot because bigoted people are all ugly or the art they make is bad and makes it easier to defend bad people who Arent. like sometimes people are attractive or talented and separately they are deeply evil. this isnt to say you shouldnt mock ugly racists but it just doesnt work as a blanket statement to me 🤷

Are you aware that in the US, even though civil court is not carceral, it can still have permanent damaging consequences of civil injustice and has long been a tool of white supremacy to extract wealth from poor communities of color especially Black communities through eviction claims, debt collection, and child support and judgment in civil cases can impact housing and employment eligibility that follows you around for the rest of your life?

i feel like "white liberal women" anon is missing the obvious answer which is that whiteness is the deciding factor. you can have beliefs that you do agree with internally but so long as race isn't a factor that has any effect on you speaking up about it will only be at a deficit to you. i think it's honestly misogynistic to be tempted to attribute this to a "desire for male validation" when white people of all kinds are deeply guilty of this
