tough fucking luck losing my cart and my pack of camels in the same 48 hour period i suspect that it may have been ghouls
are you a medieval silk road merchant
Local restaurant having trouble with whores apparently.
People don’t talk enough about how easy it is to sleep in the dirt.
Like at a certain point on a dig day you BECOME THE DIRT.
And then comfy lil cozy crevices where you just dug start ~calling your name~
This is my favorite corner of the internet:
BONUS:
Okay but consider: -Very soft (no rocks at all, just buttery smooth, sifted, light, and fluffy soil -Pesky rocks are on the other side of the dirt pile. Don’t even worry about them. -Usually cool to the touch, even on a hot day -You can just sink into it. Like a snow angel. But dirt. Bliss.
Plus, dirt smells really nice. Nothing like a bed of good silty loam...
Getting too into gender theory and feminism and such feels like cosmic horror. Like I know too much and now I'm going insane babbling to people who have no idea what I'm talking about. I saw through the Gender and it broke something in me psychologically. Everything is misogyny and nothing is real except the material consequences of misogyny. I gotta get out of here (gender) but my personal choices don't really matter because other people will continue Gendering me
As far as I can tell women are real but the signifiers of Femininity are culturally constructed. Men only exist in opposition to women. I'm not opposed to women so I'm excluded from Men. I'm only a woman when men are talking to me. You can tell gender isn't a choice though because I never could have Not been nonbinary

#i think i would have been more surprised at the reveal#if there hadn't been body horror in the background of every previous frame
I’m glad that OP:
1) Figured this out.
2) Shared so others can learn from their mistake.
I try not to fall into the "I never liked their work anyway" ditch when an artist/creator reveals themself to be a terrible person
BUT
a feeling I do have and will stand by is "While I enjoyed their work overall I did have some gripes that I overlooked out of affection and whimsy, but now that my loyalty is gone and my affection tainted there is nothing holding me back from enumerating my many grievances, to which the revelations of the creator's shittiness may or may not provide a new and infuriating context."
#such a good summation of this actually#because yeah there’s usually things that were always present#but which were easy to overlook or give the benefit of the doubt#that suddenly become relevant after a revelation about the creator#and it’s really not the same thing as the self-defensive “’I never liked it anyway’

There are four categories of people you will meet: Underlings, superiors, rivals, and love interests. One of my underlings has been attempting to convince me of the existence of a fifth category, "friend", which appears to have no purpose. I suspect it is a ploy to get out of performing her duties.
If you have enough passion in your heart, superiors, rivals, and even some underlings can also be love interests.
an underling love interest isn't a person they are a Toy
Quadrants are the four different types of romance recognized by trolls, first explained through exposition here. As humans are socialised to

Andy Wier going on an anti-woke podcast to promote his film (Project Hail Mary) and trash Star Trek (after his own ST project got rejected) just for Trekkies to terrorize him into an apology with a day… That’s one way to ruin your cutesy neo-liberal brand at breakneck speed
Genuinely such a dumb cunt thing to say while still trying to get Star Trek money:
“I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that,” Weir said. “I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that.”
The idea that science should be taught in school is a political idea, climate change being real is political, funding science including NASA is political, so is the ideal of multiple countries working together to solve a problem, particularly the U.S. and China.
These are all in his books!
While I love Project Hail Mary and The Martian, Andy Weir is probably my least favourite author other than Head TERF herself. He's the epitome of centrist thinking, where he thinks Art should not be Political. All while not recognising the things he espouses in his Art (the existence of NASA, space travel becoming easier and more accessible, collective problem solving especially from countries who historically hate each other, funding the sciences and science education, collective organisation, active messaging about climate change, and small spoiler for the end of PHM - welcoming of The Other and making space and comfort for them, collective welcoming, etc.) Are all deeply political.
Andy Weir wants so badly to believe that he's just making fun sci-fi for sci-fi nerds. He wants to believe that anyone with brains would want all those things and the political social commentary is 2015 era """"shoehorning"""" of characters that provide "representation". Nevermind that Artemis, his third novel, stars a young POC woman for no reason other than he wanted to write from that perspective this time. But he doesnt see it as political. He thinks it WOULD be political if he originally wrote Artemis from the perspective of John Smith, white man, and changed it to Jasmine Bashara for "wokeism points" or whatever. Its not political because he didnt intend for it to be.
Hes one of many white authors who doesnt understand that he is not exempt for the rule of politics. That it is deeply entrenched in every part of our lives. The sooner he realises that The Martian, Artemis, PHM, and any other projects he wants to do are inherently political the better off he'll be. And then maybe, MAYBE, he can understand why Star Trek was so great.
hobbies should not take up this much space. there ought to be a hobby pocket dimension, where I am able to store everything I need in a breadbox that weighs no more than my cat.
