I watched pop culture detectives video's on how male sexual assault is played for laughs in comedy (both by male and female perpetrators) and what I appreciate him saying in those videos is that just bc male victims aren't taken seriously doesn't mean that female victims are; they're just opposite sides of the same coin in how they're affected, and ultimately are rooted in patriarchy and misogyny (bc if the punchline is how nothing is more humiliating for a man than to be treated like a woman, then that implies women being victims is normal and not worth talking about)
