We are some of the few third spaces left, and we want to be helpful in our communities!

People come in to mine and are surprised that we have a free seed catalog, and that we lend out fishing poles.

We have origami classes every Wednesday, and kids story hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We lend out DVDS, video games, and even Rokus and dvd players!

We can't offer legal advice, but we keep some specific legal papers in hand like advanced directives and simple wills.

We DO sell old paperbacks, but it's 5 for a dollar. So it's basically just to cover the time it takes us to set up the sale and sort through the books.

I spent several minutes just staring at them (and trying to convince them to bite my fingers.) When my sister’s violin lesson ended, her teacher came out to the yard and explained that these goldfish were the same small creatures that were often unfortunately sold in plastic bags at state fairs. They were only about two inches long apiece, when she bought them and put them in the new, empty pond. In essence, they were like every goldfish I had seen before, but they had been given a much larger, much richer environment in which to flourish. As a result, they had grown into some of the most remarkable, vibrant creatures my twelve-year-old self had ever met with. All because of a pond. 

WIP Week (Work-In-Progress Week) Returns in June!

WIP Week is a week dedicated to updating fanfic or other types of fanworks.  All fandoms are welcome to participate.  Original works are also accepted.  Please tag your entries with the #wipweek or #wip week tag. Since multiple fandoms and ships are participating, please clearly list the fandoms, ships, and content warnings in the post so that they can be properly tagged for any potential readers.

The second WIP Week of 2026 will be held June 21-27. 

Each day will have a theme, but you do not have to post every day. You are also not obligated to follow these themes. You can work on one fic or fanwork for the entire week if you choose. If you’re not comfortable posting full updates but still want to participate in the week, you can post your daily word count and/or a small snippet from your work. The use of AI is prohibited.
