I need Kiri and Iori to meet so badly. For Kiri, a girl who has mastered the Iai White Purity Style, let alone one who can literally do it with her eyes closed, is basically equivalent to sticking it in her grandfather's face. Absolutely delightful.
Meanwhile, for Iori, Kiri is a girl who Samura probably helped raise for longer than her ever raised Iori, and that's basically like a slap to her face.
Do you think Kunishige took one look at Shiba's neck wound and recognised it as the work of his blade in a heartbeat?
Personally? I would never deny Hiromu Arakawa her right to a short bratty braided blond character in a kickass red coat
Invent a look this iconic and I think you should get to use it in every series.
The funniest thing is that Arakawa never even intended Gab to be a blond character in a kickass red coat in the first place lol
I just finished reading kagurabachi, so Chiaki and Shiba in particular are fresh on my mind. The imminent doomed childhood friends to lovers dynamic upcoming for Kunishige and Chiaki aside, just the doomed childhood friends dynamic alone of her and Shiba have got me so hooked.
Like. Imagine that you are Chiaki. Imagine this: yours is the power of foresight, and you were already warned about the upcoming talks. You were warned of the hostility, but not the brutality. Your childhood friend is on the team that will head there, surely your powers will allow you to watch over him, surely you would be warned if he were to be at risk, surely you will be able of knowing that he is safe. Surely you have given enough of yourself to your power that for once in your life your power will reciprocate. But it doesn't, and it's not enough, it will never be enough - your power and your title will consume everything that you are until there is nothing about the girl who used to play out in the streets with her friends left, and it is too late to stop it from happening. It has always been too late. Your death sentence has been sent through your friend, but his half-dead body has always been the true message.
Then there's Shiba: you have experienced both the most humiliating defeat and the most horrifying massacre in your life, and that you have been denied your comrades' fate is only a warning, not a mercy. You now lie helpless and unmoving at your enemy's feet and they name your childhood friend as wergild for a thousand year old feud - and this is a message that you are expected to relay. Your mouth is supposed to repeat these words, supposed to state that the decrepit king wants to keep her as a brooding mare. A fate worse than hell, a death that will keep on taking from her. And you are the mouthpiece to it. How do you deal with that, how do you live with it?

[THREADS] HOSHINO KATSURA'S THREADS POST (21/04/2026)

Since we were born as twins, it’s always been natural for us to say “happy birthday” to each other on the day. But if I had to pick the most memorable one, it would be our 20th birthday. The moment I said “Happy birthday, we are twenty!” I got smacked right across the face by Yuu-chan.
Apparently, she really didn’t want to hear the word “twenty.” Yuu-chan was unable to accept the end of our teenage years.
Happy birthday, Hoshino sensei !!!
The true reason why Hoshino is (probably) about to kill Kanda off before he's twenty.
Sometimes in a professional setting you’ll come across someone in their 60s who just cannot open a PDF in their email. And the thing is. They’re lowkey not old enough to be acting like that. You guys were in your early 30s at the latest when email took off. You’ve actually been doing this for longer than I have. Get real and click on the damn attachment.

to the young who want to die by gwendolyn brooks
Gorgeous horses are like the basic requirement of any Arakawa Hiromu works.
I wonder what happened to the horse after Yuru left the village - I hope she's thoroughly enjoying her life back on the mountains.
Ok but why the hell does Danji have a shadow.
(Images and further discussion under the cut to not spoil any new anime watchers)
COVID-19 mention in the anime!!

maybe its about a demon seeing the power of human growth and putting everything in the line for a group of people he was meant to torture
maybe its about the most indecisive person making the same choice over and over again more than 600 times
maybe its about seeing someone starting off so selfish repeatedly sacrificing everything for her friends
maybe its about weather people are trying to be better today than they were yesterday
maybe its about how nothing matters so everything has to
maybe its about what we owe to each other
maybe its about water on a wave
maybe its about the dot above the i
I wonder how young Asuma was when Iori died:
If Gonzo married Akane so that Hikaru and Asuma would have a mother around (which is... not the best reason to marry someone, and I sincerely hope that it wasn't Gonzo's only one), then both brothers must've been fairly young to have needed one. Also, Jin was only born after Iori died, and I just don't think that Asuma and Jin have that big of an age gap between them: maybe 8-10 years max.
Not to mention, there's this panel as well though it isn't canonically confirmed to have happened after Iori's death:
Think about it. Asuma was around seven or so when he last saw his mother. He spent most of his life trying to avenge her, but do you think he even remembers her voice by now? He loved her with everything he had, but do think he has to look at photos to memorize her smile because he'll forget it otherwise? Do you?
Not only that, Asuma was the one who inherited Asagiri and Yozakura from her, the only two beings in the world that would have stopped at nothing to keep her alive - the guilt he must feel from that is insane, actually.
