personally i dont think the hand and elias will ever really be separated. regardless of how they came to be, be it from the hand's hubris from trying to become dr frankenstein or otherwise (STILL thinking abt the idea that elias/werepelt/whatever was forced upon them), yamazaki seems to lean very heavily into "sometimes bad things happen, whether its your fault or not, and you must still face the consequences". there is no magical solution. there is no perfect happy ending. you are not guaranteed to get closure. sometimes the only thing you can do is simply move on.

Elias headcanon: I like to think his mother tongue/first language is Sami, Finnish, or a language from Scandinavia, since he was found in probably Scandinavia or Lapland with lindel, Lindel also wears what I think is gátki, traditional Sami clothes, so he's prolly Sami, they could understand eachother when they first met so I'm thinking Elias could be Finnish or Sami
As for Rahab, idk, she "drifts between time" and she's likely talked to many kinds of people, so I guess she can just speak alot of languages. Elias probably learned English while staying with her

Imagine if ever chise and Elias go to Japan, his first encounter with yokai/ayakashi would probably be pretty alarming or scary. Imagine being in a foreign country speaking with foreign creatures who speak a different language than you and who play by different rules, he'd know what the fae would do and what to say and not say, but not yokai, not knowing anything about what ur interacting with makes it scarier lel. Chise probably won't know anything much unless Yori (if he ever turns out to be fumiki) teaches her.
