Is the reason that Aerion is so furious with Valarr and seems to hate him so much for running away to Dragonstone to marry Daenys in Like Jaehaerys because he wanted to marry Daenys? Or felt entitled to? Since in canon Aerion said that he had too many brothers and not sisters to marry when he was abusing Egg

Will there be a Maekar pov? I find it so interesting how his relationship seems to be so much better and of course even more protective with genderbent Daeron in this au

In terms of Aerion’s anger with Valarr, yes, it’s because he wanted to marry Daenys. Aerion has after all, always took huge pride in his Valyrian blood and considered himself a dragon in human form and he definitely wanted a Valyrian bride as well because of this (his talk about marrying Aegon once he made him a ‘sister’ and how he marries his cousin Daenora in canon). He would feel entitled to that, even more so in this AU, as he’s also the heir to Summerhall here. And in his mind, the very best option out of his female relatives to marry would be his older sister - who is also recognised as being a dreamer, a very rare Valyrian gift. She is the bride that he wants and as heir to Summerhall, the oldest of her brothers and seeing himself as a real dragon, he felt entitled to her hand.

It’s why he feels so angry at Valarr, as Valarr in his mind ‘robbed’ him of what he had considered his.

There is a lot more to say about Aerion’s relationship with both Daenys and Valarr in this AU, especially with a fem!Daeron who doesn’t have her canon struggles and is now in the position of a daughter rather than a son and how Aerion has more power in this as he is the heir to Summerhall rather than a second son of a fourth son and how he feels/is compared to Valarr quite a lot, but that’s all I’ll say there for now as I hope to touch on it more as we move through the series.

In terms of a Maekar pov, that I’m not too sure about yet. Like I said, I do plan to continue this series and I have a few rough ideas already, so we might get one, I’ll see where the inspiration takes me. Also I feel like Maekar is a slightly better father to his daughters than his sons (not perfect, far from it, but his daughters don’t have the same kind of pressures to be warriors and the pressures and comparisons to Baelor’s sons to contend with like his boys do) and while Aerion is his favourite due to him being the most martially inclined and the kind of heir/son Maekar expects (or well, he is when Maekar is watching), he has a very soft spot for Daenys in this due to her being his first child and a little girl to protect at that.

I love the idea of Katniss and Madge being friends since they were babies it's so cute 🥺🥺🥺😭 and give her support Early on

And yeah, I am a Wysilee shipper! They just suddenly snuck up on me but I love them and I think that they’re great together!

Katniss and Madge should have gotten the chance to be childhood friends (and its sad to think that they could have had fate not intervened) and their bond then could have been unstoppable! And even sadder to think about how different Katniss’ life and her general personality could have been had Asterid hadn’t lost her friendships with Maysilee and Merrilee and she had a support system when Burdock died.

To be honest, I never had a real concrete reason for the fight when I was planning it out but I was kind of going off the vibe that the original argument was just over something really small and petty that spiralled well out of control and then neither sister wanted to be the one to apologise first.

( he knows that it's a life or death situation for him and cashmere but I imagine that since in this au they didn't jump into killing and regrouped with Finnick and the district 7 and 3 duos he's getting more hesitant knowing that besides everlark they are in the arena with people that they have known for years and it's getting harder to shove this in the back of his mind)

And beetee and the others are internally panicking but then beetee takes a deep breath and just goes : well if you're suggesting that we go and fight them hand to hand and potentially get ourselves badly injured or killed then be my guest and I'm sure you won't want to look them in the eyes as you kill them) in an uncharacteristiclly dry tone

And gloss after taking it just goes: scratch that lets just blow this thing up

( Which he doesn't know is literally what they want , obviously he doesn't want to risk cashmere getting hurt in a more confortaional fight or hunting down his fellow victors unless there's absolutely no other choice)

It's more Bec I thought it'd be a funny interaction than a deeply logical one

Oh, the members of the rebel alliance are probably wishing that Haymitch could send them aspirin or something in the Arena, because oh God, if they didn't need it when dealing with Everlark then they would definitely need it when dealing with the siblings. Everyone in the know of the break-out plan both inside and outside the Arena are absolutely wondering just what they did wrong in life to deserve this as a punishment.

Like, Everlark not knowing about the plan and having to work around them is bad enough, but it is manageable and they can make Beetee's plan seem smart/reasonable. But Gloss and Cashmere know them, or at least some of them, plus they have the added bonus of ten extra years of life experience/mentoring under their belts too so working around that and keeping them in the dark in a death match and not having them question too much while you're on live camera is so much harder than managing two teenagers.

Particularly when you also have to then factor in Gloss, who has a habit of thinking before he speaks/putting his foot in his mouth and saying things like the above (and once again, you don't want certain people who might be watching this getting suspicious, this is far from ideal) and Cashmere, who is perceptive, (I know people like Beetee and Wiress might not know her well enough to realise that, and so might not factor this in, but Finnick would and he would be working overtime to make sure that Cashmere doesn't get suspicious of their motives and breaks with alliance early as he feels that Everlark would side with the siblings, or would then decide to break off and go off in a duo which they can't have) so keeping them in the dark and making sure that they don't go poking out holes in your plan to break the Arena that's disguised as a plan to kill your opponents?

It's probably just me but I imagine that gloss and cashmere might catch on the fact that Katniss and peeta were abused and neglected even if a little when the more they keep talking to them when they ally with them

Yeah, I can definitely see Gloss and Cashmere catching onto what Everlark's home lives before the Games were like simply due to certain actions in their behaviour that they're probably not even aware they're doing and what they say/don't say that the siblings can pick up on.

And it probably breaks their heart a little too knowing that these kids hadn't even had much of a break even before they had gotten reaped/sucked into Victorship, because they know first-hand just how horrible that is.
