While I typically imagine their first 'official' meeting to be in University, I've also been thinking whether they'd have crossed paths as kids. Because (to me), their fathers have definitely done business together.

Imagine Ludius and Hector over at the Herz Estate, Ludius is talking business in another room with Romulus.

Cleo and Hector are probably around 6-8 in this scenario.

Then from the top of the staircase, Cleo is peering down to see who has come to visit. And what do you know, it's Hector just looking at the portraits. Maybe Cleo steps on something or Hector just happens to turn around and glance up to see her staring.

AND wham - the dovecote eyes just hit full force. Cleo is too flustered to demand what this boy is doing in her home! and runs off instead.

bonus scene that happens maybe a month later

Romulus to Levana after some event: do you think we should get the doctor to come see Cleopatra? She looked pretty red today and kept clinging to me.

Levana: I think she'll be fine once by the morning.

Romulus: Really? But you should have seen her. I really think we should let the doctor take a look. What if she has a fever?

Levana: darling...
