I think it would be cool if Luna’s cutie mark shifted with the phases of the moon and like, stars appeared on her body and in her mane depending on the day. Same with Celestia, like if it’s cloudy, her mark is covered by clouds and her mane is monotone grays.
cloudy celestia’s body colors would be slightly more dull too, and more saturated/brighter when it’s sunny

Hmm. Mixed feelings about the new Tales From Eternia episode.
One one hand: it is interesting that they're going back to earlier characterizations of Orko being a bit snarkier, a lot of his dialogue reminded me of Gorpo from the first MOTU annual. Unsure if that was the intent but regardless it is neat. His new voice is growing on me as well, and I do like that he and Teela got an episode (mostly) to themselves.
On the other hand: ohhhhhhh my gosh are we seriously making Orko’s struggle to adapt to Eternian magic a Him Problem. Is that what we’re doing Tales From Eternia. Are we genuinely and unironically simplifying it into him not reading a spell through its entirety. Stares out at the horizon.
Uh. Tales from Eternia update? I guess? Spoilers under the cut if you care about spoilers for a 4 minute YouTube series?
It seems as if they're making Orko's magic a Him Problem because he never lost his wand in this continuity?
I mean. That's his wand. That's just straight-up his wand. Granted it looks more like his Classics wand than his 200X wand (it's got the ridged edge and top ring of the Classics wand while the topmost part of the hilt looks like a combo of 200X's and Classics') but regardless of design that's his wand. Orko still has his wand in Tales from Eternia.
And sure one could maybe make an argument that it just happens to look like his wand, and that given the visual similarities between Tales from Eternia and the Filmation series it could be a reference to Orko's numerous replacement wands he has for his amulet over the series, except the wand WORKS. Every spell Orko casts with it in the episode works without flaw.
No wonder Orko is snarkier in this version. No wonder his issues with magic have been altered to him not reading through a spell in its entirety. This Orko never went through 10+ years of having to redefine who he was without his magic! This is an Orko still used to things going his way!
I have NO idea how intentional this all is but if it is intentional then Tales from Eternia I am so sorry I mistook your foreshadowing for mischaracterization. Please forgive me :(

Larry DiTilillo wrote The Greatest Magic to be Like That because he knew that if Dree Elle and She-Ra actually got to be friends instead of getting reduced to a sexist “jealous girlfriend automatically assumes her boyfriend is cheating on her with a gal he’s just standing next to” trope their dynamic would be so powerful Filmation would have had to completely rewrite Princess Of Power to just be about them.
