idk who needs to hear this but ādepressing quotesā blogs and stuff like this may express how youāre feeling but seeing a constant stream of negativity and romanticised sadness is only going to make you feel worse. Even if you only unfollow one blog and follow a puppy blog instead, youāll feel a little better
There is a fine line between acknowledging and accepting your feelings, and dwelling and living in them.

. . . Guys-
i donāt take showers to get clean or relax i take showers to get baked like lasagne
I got a huge mango at the 99 cent store the other day and it started to go bad so I cut it up and put it in the fridge and now I'm making mango sticky rice and I absolutely did not need to know how easy this recipe is.
You will need:
1 cup sweet rice (also known as glutinous rice; it doesn't have gluten in it, it's just starchy - you can substitute sushi rice or basmati rice, but the texture will be somewhat incorrect).
1.5 cups water, divided
1 can coconut milk
.25 tsp salt
~3-5 tbsp sugar (you can use brown sugar, white sugar, coconut sugar, whatever - I wouldn't recommend something with a strong, distinct flavor like maple syrup)
1 unreasonably large mango, or 2 normal ones.
Put the rice in a medium pot and soak in one cup of water for 30 minutes, add another half cup of water, the salt, 1tbsp sugar, and half the can of coconut milk to the pan and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer with the lid slightly open to let steam out. Let simmer until liquid is absorbed, stir, and let sit covered for 5-10 minutes to cool and 'set.' None of the recipes I found said 'set' but basically you're letting shit congeal into its final form so it's setting.
In a small saucepan combine sugar to taste and the rest of the coconut milk. Heat slowly while stirring occasionally, and let simmer until the mixture slightly thickens.
Dice up your mango.
Serve warm - it's a scoop of rice with mango on top and you drizzle it with as much of the coconut sugar sauce as you want. It's surprisingly rich, so I'd say this is about 6 servings?
I added a bit more salt and a bit less sugar than the recipe called for, and was pleased with that decision, but the mango that I was using was *exceptionally* sweet, so make sure you know what you're pairing it with. If I'd been using one of the regular mangoes I buy, I think I would have stuck to the recommended measurements.

The birds who live in my yard absolutely fucking love it when I finally cut the waist-high grass. āFuck yeah, grass salad snack,ā they think. āCut it up. Reveal those hidden seeds and bugs for us.ā
This site latches onto some weird things but āI cut the lawn today and the birds liked itā is not going to garner a massive public response even on Tumblr.
no actually Iām gonna give this its own post.
get yourself a USB stick from any dollar store, install ubuntu with persistent storage on it. There is literally no reason not to, and it means that you now have a little computer of your very own that no one except those who physically get their hands on your USB stick can use (and you can password lock the OS) and that you can run from literally almost any PC with USB ports. Including public machines in libraries and, probably, school laptops.
If youāre a kid who needs privacy, someone in trouble who just needs their own machine to play and talk to people on, somebody who doesnāt have the money to get your own computer, etc etc etc, do this. Actually do this even if you do have your own computer. There is literally no reason to not have a little backup system on a thumb drive that you can use anytime. If your main computer starts acting up or gets fucked over by an update or something? Just plug in your thumb drive and use your computer from your handy-dandy mini Ubuntu installation.
Here is a guide on how to create a USB linux drive with persistent storage from Windows using a simple little program called Rufus.

funerals are- a way to cope, to put our grief in sensible frame, to help process what is impossible to process together with other people and to put an end to a chapter, in a way. to be able to start to love the rest of your life after a loss. it's a ritual.
none of us will be able to go to Techno's funeral, and that's a good thing - hell, no cementary would fit over 10 milion people - but it's okay if you need a ritual of your own to honor him, to help yourself, to help each other through this.
in few days, if you need to spend a day watching his videos, or talking to a friend about Techno, laugh, cry, reminiscence, build a shrine on your minecraft world - that's okay. that's not parasocial, that's human. you are allowed to grieve even if you've never met a person - he changed the lives of so many people for the better, we didn't know him but we did know the part of him that he wanted to share. we were allowed to love him.
and at the end of the day he loved us enough to not let us mourn him without knowing his name.
GG, Technoblade. you've played the game well and we will never forget you.

Ok but like all of this makes so much sense now??? The IRIS Twitter mentioning systems down on may 24th coincidentally the day an observation duty video was posted this year, (and the day 3 years ago the final part of observation was posted), the adds to be a night watcher referencing overnightwatch with the tag line "who watches the wtcher?" Hey so I still see people utterly baffled by how religious fundies (still a majority in America and moreso its senate) react on certain issues so uhhh is it actually not common knowledge what the antichrist is all about? You guys know his defining characteristic is ending war, right? That heās foretold to unite the world under his leadership by preaching global peace and solving basically every single problem in the world? So you know when you try to talk to these people about equality and togetherness they literally believe thatās what makes you an agent of the devil right???
im sorry what.Ā so.Ā ok im assuming they think that this is all like.Ā to gain trust and then take over or something?Ā because.
Yes, heās called the āantichristā because heās an imposter Jesus and the majority of the world will love him when he ends all class divides and erases all borders, creating one world government with him at the top. Thatās the ānew world orderā theyāre terrified of. But they think heāll oppress true Christian believers who see through his ruse, which is why theyāre constantly looking for signs that theyāre being discriminated against and panic when they lose any control over government. This is why they fear diversity, immigration, socialized anything. The less religious right are pretty clearly still running on the same logic; they might drop some of the spiritual lore but this is where they get the idea that all progressivism leads to the ārealā fascism. Some believe the antichrist isnāt a literal person either but just that entire set of beliefs, so everyone protesting against war and trying to feed the hungry is a *collective* antichrist.
So from the notes it turns out people are MUCH less familiar with all this than I suspected and thatās honestly kind of alarming, guys, you should really really pay attention to things that affect so much of this country. No these are absolutely not obscure or fringe beliefs, these are MAINSTREAM with megachurches, Trump voters, the GOP and a vast proportion of the wealthy. Alex Jones and multiple Fox News hosts openly believe word for word what I described here.
And yeah as several people pointed out it isnāt even explicitly in the bible, but something some radicals pieced together in maybe only the last century. My uncles all believe it to the letter and they all believe itās what the Bible is āsupposedā to be communicating.
A lot of people are also confused as to why they would believe the peace and unity are villainous things and what the difference even is then between the āantichristā and actual Jesus, which brings me to another thing I realize some folks CRITICALLY overlook about American Christianity, which is that they do not believe in good or bad deeds. They believe the same deed can be right or wrong strictly according to whether or not itās performed by a believer with Godās stamp of approval. Like, they KNOW the Satanic Church and Witch Covens do community service or donate to cancer research and they are not confused, surprised, bitter or embarrassed by that at all. Itās exactly what theyāre taught to expect. They believe the forces of Satan do primarily āgoodā things so people will think heās just as good or better than God. So if a pastor heals a sick child with a prayer then thatās good, but if a āwitchā heals the same sick child with āmagicā (not something I believe exists, but they do) then thatās a false miracle from the devil and the child was better off dying because now everyone involved is a sinner who deserves hell. Theyāre taught to view you as a ridiculous fool if you donāt grasp this difference, and every single argument you might make is a part of the satanic trickery.
After all, they think our entire existence on this Earth is an insignificant speck in the grand scheme of things. The suffering in the world isnāt a bug to them, but a feature that God set up to test everyoneās worthiness, teach them lessons and filter out the faithless, so they actively do not believe itās always morally right in itself to help people or save lives. Rather, certain people are just intended to suffer and die and it can be MORE wrong to help them.
Sorry to put this big ass thing on your dashboards again but Iām downright awestruck by the notes. Thereās 15,500 of them at the time of this reblog and almost zero disagreement, just hundreds of people expressing absolute terror that they didnāt realize they were living under the thumb of a doomsday cult, and Iām really really sorry for that because I really did not expect to be the bearer of that news to so many. If you havenāt looked at the notes for yourself though, theyāre pretty eye opening even to me, especially the next most common type of response on it:
ā¦.And something Iāve heard before but still neglected to mention:
ā¦..so thatās all pretty nightmarish confirmation of how pervasive this mindset is around here, but you know, if the majority of reactions to this information have been either āwhat the fuck are you talking about?ā or āyeah I WAS taught this and Iām better now,ā maybe thatās a sign that itās slowly but consistently fading with every generation?
I actually wasnāt raised religious AT ALL, and it was still impossible for me to not hear this shit constantly in the 80ā²s and 90ā²s from basically everyone outside my immediate family. Itād even crop up on television and radio stations that werenāt even supposed to be christian-oriented. Just boom, thereās an evangelist suddenly talking about how Only God is Allowed to End War and Satan Takes the Form of Kindness, like these were just normal banal perspectives to toss in between a relationship advice segment and the latest movie reviews. Iām really proud of every person saying they escaped from that indoctrination and actually feel much better and more hopeful about the whole thing. It might not be fixed completely in our lifetimes but clearly it is fixable.
I was going full wait this canāt be real but uhhh this article provides a good summary of this phenomenon
How fundamentalist Christians who believe in the apocalyptic myth of āthe raptureā could be shaping Trumpās agenda āĀ and American life
you guys HAVE to take āis dumbā off the end of your username. you have to take āmy shit ramblesā out of your talking tag. you have to stop apologizing for existing. I get so sad for every url I see like ā[name]ās-stupid-reblogsā and every blog I open with a title like āpointless postsā and every opinion post I see tagged something derogatory by op!! speaking as someone whose post tag used to be āmakes bad posts.ā stop actively putting up roadblocks for yourself!! why do we always say bullying is bad but never when weāre bullying ourselves
everyone give it up for the best tag on this post
