#that's so funny #but see? this is why i hate translations and why i'm very limited to just consuming original work in just 2 languages lol #(still read translations i'm not insane but i don't ever trust them)#like unrelated but i read the murderbot diaries in english and once decided to just check what the spanish translation did with the pronoun #and OH MY GOD did they fuck up!!!#inconsistencies in neopronouns within the same fucking sentence #capitalizing pronouns that made them seem like the name of a character not introduced yet #like it was A Mess and it was quite literally unreadable #murderbot for some reason has masc pronouns which makes no sense cause unit and construct are femenine words in spanish #i guess they're going with robot? but it's very specifically NOT a robot... so idk what they did #sorry fully derailed the post lol at least i'm in the tags
