Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living.
And the child born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, good and gay.
Monday’s Child
May I present to you Wheel Running In the Wild, a published research paper that delights me to no end:
This paper intended to test whether would mice would run on a wheel if they found one, to try and determine if this was a natural behavior or a stress response in captivity. They put a wheel in a protected little box with a camera that took pictures any time the wheel turned, and tallied up how often it was used by what.
Mice were, happily, the most common users of the wheel, and their patterns of use indicated they were doing so voluntarily once they figured it out.
But the second most common users.
Those were slugs.
I would not have guessed this in a thousand years. I am delighted.
choke it back

It was a tragedy that we lost 10 people on this archeology trip but it was pretty cool that the fertility statue we found magically gave you triple P sized breasts
losing it at this photo of the counts puppet not being used. literally he looks like hes just taking a nap on set or something
my favorite thing about the painting Saturn Devouring His Son is that Goya didn’t name any of his Black Paintings and died before their discovery so we just assumed that’s what the painting was depicting. like we’re just hoping that this painting we found in Goya’s dining room of a terrible giant eating a beheaded corpse is a depiction of Saturn eating his kid. praying, even.

Throwback to 2016 when I told my sister “they’re making another planet earth” and she just like. raised an eyebrow and said in this absolutely deadpan condescending tone “and where are they getting the dirt for it?” and I had to specify I meant planet earth the nature documentary not the celestial body
ok this is a poignant visual metaphor tho
this image made me quit my job.
I remember the first time I saw it, i stared at it for several minutes until I finally just started crying. It made me resolve to leave, and I turned in my resignation about a month later.
This is your reminder that if life keeps throwing you lemons you are not morally obligated to make lemonade from them. You can duck, or catch them in a trash can, or get a baseball bat and slam those fuckers into the stratosphere.
