Having been named after a character in The Great Gatsby by my English-major dad, I thought I would ask about this.

#i think my mother ridiculed all the name suggestions from my dad until hers was the only one left #that and the fact she wanted to name me a really rare name but bc of the nickname and diminutives culture in poland #she icked herself out of the name she wanted bc of the nicknames it has hsvshdgdhdhdh #and then she just said no to every suggestion my dad had until they got to my birth name #then when i changed my name i also picked it bc i liked the sound of it
