productivity has taken a bit of a dive recently thanks to Black Flag Resynced, but I am determined to have this finished in the next month or so

"I didn't miss anything exciting, did I?" Tommy asks. Eddie grins. "No, things were perfectly uneventful. Although someone was in a bit of a mood." Evan makes a scoffing noise. "I was not." "Who said I meant you?" Eddie asks innocently. "It could have been another noble who was determined not to crack a smile until we received word you were on your way home." Evan glares at Eddie even as his face turns red. Tommy barely disguises his laugh as a cough. "Will you be joining us tonight at the tavern?" Eddie asks. "You must have some stories from your travels." In his peripheral vision, Tommy can see Evan shifting his weight impatiently. "Tomorrow, certainly," he says. "Tonight I would like to spend in my own bed." "Fair enough." Eddie shoots Evan a wry smile. "Buck, I hope you let Tommy get some rest before demanding his attention." Evan rolls his eyes. "I'm not that unreasonable. We — we just have something important to discuss, is all." "After you, my lord," Tommy says, inclining his head slightly. With a curt nod at Eddie, Evan sets off purposefully again towards the keep. "Have fun," Eddie says to Tommy with a wink. Tommy hesitates, caught off-guard by the remark. But then Evan calls for him over his shoulder and Tommy's feet carry him off after his lord.

everything's a road trip fic to me at the moment apparently. OKAY. SO.

buck and tommy, back together, everything's fine, theo's around maybe, idk, on a long school trip or visiting family i dunno man, he's wherever fic writers (or the show, let's be real) send christopher when the grown ups need some time alone.

they realise, hey, wait, we've never actually taken a vacation before, that's weird! they make the initial decision for a road trip over a destination holiday by tossing a coin. and it's fun and silly and they just...roll with it. beach or mountains? toss a coin. ruby's or norm's? toss a coin. turn left or right at the next intersection? toss a coin. who gets to top tonight? toss a coin. stop in this town for the night or keep going? toss a coin.

they're heading back into california, have a couple of days left before they're due home and buck's driving. tommy's fiddling with the coin they've been using this whole trip, an old silver dollar he's had since he was a kid.

"debating dinner?" buck asks.

"heads we swing by reno and get married tomorrow," tommy says. "tails we wait til we're back home."

"i - wh - you found the ring??" buck yells.

"i found the ring," tommy admits.
