One of the craziest discourses I’ve seen come out in recent months is the notion that Marv Wolfman ruined Dick Grayson’s character by making him quit Robin and causing him to fallout with Bruce. I have many gripes with Wolfman myself (I’m a Superman fan), but I think that Nightwing fans got their timelines mixed up because there ain’t no way in hell 1970s Dick Grayson was even remotely on the same boat as 1980s Dick Grayson.
It all reads like people being pissy that NTT, for all its faults, gave Dick a life outside of the Batman franchise. That franchise didn’t even want him in the 1970s tf
I just found some of the discourse on this because I was curious. Interesting how they (or I said they, but it's really this one particular person's argument I'm observing) truly dislike Nightwing and think it's stagnating for Dick, and that Dick has higher potential as Robin. It's just a bit funny to me since we currently get Dick as both Nightwing and Robin comic-wise. But apparently that's not good enough. Apparently Dick needs to get rid of Nightwing entirely and reclaim Robin.
