Sure! It's from Earth 2: Society #1.

Coco is only an apprentice witch and Tartah is not even that. They don’t have the level of magical know how to create spell that does that. There’s not exactly a tranquileaf sigil that we know of and a spell that can identify something from thoughts alone borders on forbidden magic.

Tartah’s story as about how ableist witches are. As far as we know, no spell can color correct his vision and even if there was a spell that could witches wouldn’t bother to help him anyways. He is denied accommodations for his disabilities and told that he’s not worth a shot. So why should he even try? This goes back to his shame of being born witch that can never be an apprentice. Hiding his hat and hanging out with Unknowings. His hesitance at using magic. All of this goes back to him being excluded from the world that he lives in just because he is disabled. It’s a soapbox moment. Themes of disability, ableism, and exclusivity come up a lot in this Witch Hat.

To answer your question, it’s not like they couldn’t… it’s just that they’re assholes.

During the whole medicine debacle, I kept being like, "Why can't he just make a spell that identifies the object he needs?" Like a spell that glows around the thing you're looking for or whatever. But the powder->solid spell worked as well. I was also thinking couldn't they put a spell on a pair of glasses that allows someone with silverwash to see colors as they actually are? I meeeean it's technically not a healing spell... Either way, I'm happy for Tartah and for what this means for him going forward.
