They should make a content label for ai posts like they do for mature content so I dont ever have to fucking look at it

An early trailblazer in the fight against HIV/AIDS and a staunch and outspoken LGBTQ+ ally, Elizabeth committed her time and energy to the cause when her friend and co-star Rock Hudson was diagnosed with AIDS prior to his passing in 1985. Elizabeth went on to become a co-founder (alongside Dr. Mathilde Krim) of the first AIDS research center amfAR, and later founded her separate Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in 1991 with the specific focus of providing nutritious meals (as well as medical and financial assistance) to people living with HIV and AIDS. She also lobbied the U.S. congress to contribute more money for AIDS research and education, devoting the last twenty-six years of her life to the cause. After Elizabeth passed away in 2011 at the age of 79, a large portion of the $156,800,000 raised at the Christie’s auction of her legendary jewelry collection was bequeathed to her charity in order to continue providing the services and assistance she believed were important in perpetuity. Still actively raising funds today, Elizabeth’s grandson Quinn Tivey is now an officer and co-trustee of her foundation. Reflecting on his grandmother’s humanitarianism and advocacy, he recently stated: “The fight against HIV/AIDS was such a vital part of her legacy, and although the fight is far from over, I’m honored to see the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation continue her work, educating legislators, raising awareness for the public, disproving myths and decreasing fear and stigma. Grandma stood up for what she believed in, living boldly and courageously. She would never buckle under pressure, and she certainly would not support the status quo if the status quo didn’t feel right.”
nobody better say a goddamned word against Elizabeth Taylor in front of me, is all I can say. She fought this fight before it was popular, before it was acceptable, even before people knew it WAS a fight. She didn’t care if it made people think less of her. She fought it.

sister has suggested "primarily associated with the dark web" booty shorts
Psychosis can mess with critical thinking skills and make completely irrational things seem perfectly logical at times. When a delusion kicks in, it can be very difficult to logic your way out of it.
I periodically think my milk is filled with slugs and larvae, even though I know rationally, that's not the case. Most days, I can work through that by reminding myself that I live with other people who also drink the milk, and if there were bugs in it, someone else would have noticed, so it's more logical that I'm just hallucinating.
However, the worse psychosis gets, the ability to logic like that can become more difficult. I might start thinking things like "they're only pretending to drink the milk to trick me" or something. They're not, and the milk is fine, but... the brain fills in the gaps of the logic with whatever it can to preserve the delusion.
Delusions often sound completely ridiculous on the outside, but when you're in the delusional state, it feels completely rational, often in ways you can't fully explain.
I often come out of delusions and think "how did I think that was real", but… well, brains are mean like that, y'know?
since there is such an "english speakers who don't even try to pronounce a foreign mame correctly" epidemic, native english speakers often try to overcorrect and end up thinking they have a moral imperative to pronounce every foreign name correctly at all times. so i'm gonna hold your hand and look into your eyss as i say this: you can't. you can't pronounce every sound in a language you don't speak. and that's fine. it happens to the rest of us too. we won't be mad so long as you try your best.
“I did some research to pronounce this name correctly” = 👍 great! even if the pronunciation was still off (and learning to pronounce a foreign language correctly takes a lot of practice) people generally appreciate it when someone goes the extra mile for accuracy, and honestly, languages are cool
“I’m probably not saying that correctly”/“sorry for my pronunciation” = 👍 understandable! foreign languages often have sounds that aren’t used in English and learning to correctly pronounce unfamiliar phonemes is genuinely difficult even with help
“lol I’m not even gonna TRY to pronounce that 😂” = 👎 THIS is the problem, if treats languages other than English like they are inherently ‘weird’ or ‘overly complicated’ just because you aren’t familiar with them
“One thousand apologies for my butchering of this beautiful effervescent tongue, I will now flagellate myself as punishment for my crimes” = 👎 chill

Longtime readers may be aware of how much I relish an excuse to bully a company, so I'm sharing the wealth;
Clothing company Patagonia is currently sueing drag queen Pattie Gonia for "irreparable” harm to their brand.
To be clear; Pattie named herself after the region in South America.
So Pattie is asking people to politely ask Patagonia to drop the lawsuit.
I'm extending the invitation to all of you, because sueing a drag queen for 'infringement' in the current political cultural landscape is vile. Especially a drag queen who has raised millions of dollars for non-profits, uses her platform to raise awareness for climate activism, and fully aligns with Patagonia's apparent climate-conscious mission statement.
They're claiming they're sueing for $1. They're actually asking her to stop using her name, and pay over $1 million in legal fees. They're straight up harassing her.
In contrast, drag queen Jan Sport has a Jansport bag line. It's that easy to just... work with a queen.
Anyway. Be respectful(ish), but feel free to be annoying on Patagnoia's socials, asking them to 'DROP THE LAWSUIT'
I think they have a twitter and tiktok too!
Hello! I’m Kaiju! I’m a tegu!
12 years ago today. I don’t think anything has had as profound an impact on my life as Kaiju did. This was the first picture I ever took of her- I got her out of her box and put her on this blanket because I thought she’d want to decompress on something soft. And she just… turned her head to look at me and I knew my life was about to change forever. I can’t imagine life without a tegu now, and it’s because this one ate my heart.
I’ll miss her for the rest of my life. Nakajima’s a worthy successor but never, ever a replacement.
It's about to be Juneteenth I hope non-Black people have a couple grand to give to every Black american from the south, and I'm not even close to joking.
juneteenth tomorrow! If you have ever laughed, chuckled, nodded in agreement with any of my posts, went 'ooh wow' at one of my playlists or moodboards, or if you've read any of my work and said, "damn, this Black southern icon can WRITE", you can go ahead and drop some money in my account. I'm currently in between checks, so any amount of help would be nice. But also search your soul and consider what evils non-Black people have done to Black people just this month alone, and try to match your donation to the amount of psychological damage done to the average Black southerner, thank ya!!

multiple people have said being warned about inconvenient side effects helps dissuade them from starting substances, so here's a longer list.
if you're smoking it, you are going to be coughing a lot. you are going to be breathless a lot. your breath and smell are gonna be real bad.
if you're going to be snorting it. do you want to have a permanent sniffy nose? this is how you get a permanent sniffy nose.
if you're injecting it. you will develop weird painful spots and also itchiness.
in general: you are gonna be so tired and you will feel so evil and your sleep will not be normal and you will be pooping way too much or way too little and it will also stink and you will have really bad headaches. and your memory will get worse.
with alcohol - you will unlock evil nausea and grogginess and also you will have crazy dreams and general brain fog
with opiates - do you want to be itchy forever. this is how you be itchy forever.
with psychedelics - basically you will never feel hungry or tired again and no matter how much fun you think it is it is actually hell on earth to not be able to reset your body and you desperately need a reset and you have misplaced the button for reset.
with meth and the associated family -- You will feel your heart in places your heart should not be and also this never goes away
also not fun: spending money on things you cannot afford. and the slow realisation that you promised to never lose control. and then you did.
"i already experience these" Great. It gets worse. It gets so much worse.
"well I can't be addicted to stimulants because I have ADHD / opiates because I have chronic pain" I need you to know. This is a lie. The primary difference on why people experience withdrawals is the strength of the dosage. Also ignores the amount of disabled people who ended up addicted because they could not find their medication otherwise.
this post was written by an addict and if you're going to be weird about addiction do us both a favour and don't interact with me
Good morning,
museums should repatriate artifacts belonging to living cultures and display reproductions instead
Good afternoon,
no one is entitled to the sacred art, tools, or costumes of another culture (save members of the culture itself) and nonsacred reproductions will serve just as well for the purposes of education and appreciation
Good evening,
having museums full of reproductions would be even cooler than having museums full of sacred artifacts because when modern craftspeople are able to replicate those artifacts, it’s usually because they still make the same items the same way today
this means that you could have description tags emphasizing that such-and-such item has been made by these people in almost the same way for hundreds of years
having museums full of beautiful reproductions takes the emphasis off of Things and places it on the People who make them, which is really as it should be
