okay cherry magic people, am i the only one who was a little disappointed with tsuge and minato's first time in the manga?
I know Adachi and Kurosawa are the main couple so there will be a greater focus on them naturally, but their first time together/Adachi losing his virginity was very intimate and you could see the desire, whereas Tsuge's (and Minato's) felt a little lacking somehow.
Perhaps this is just me classically being more invested in side couples so I overanalyse whatever content I can get of them, but I don't know any other Cherry fans so wanted to see if anyone else had an opinion on it.

Every removable pillow and cushion goes in that room, against the walls.
Any kind of cardboard or foamcore can be pressed into window wells or taped over. Put wadded up newspaper or bubble wrap between the pane and the foamcore. Duct or painter's tape can hold the cardboard or foamcore to the wall. Mound laundry and blankets around you. Make sure pets have a similarly squishy bed to curl up in. Pet carriers are great for huddling in, and it's good to have them out anyway in case you MUST relocate. Food and water go close enough they don't have to come all the way out, if they don't want to.
Remember that to insulate, air pockets are necessary. Don't pack clothes or newspaper loose, but don't squish all the air out either. Insulation is made with foam or blown fiber for a reason. Air pockets in a non conductive material trap the cold instead of passing it on.
It is honestly way less miserable stuck in a single, insulated room than free roaming a house that is cold.
If your area is expected to be hard hit, prepare some of this in advance.
Keep your phone charged BEFORE the power goes out! Put it back on the charger when it reaches 80%, I am not kidding.
And, final tip, if you go outside and get REAL cold, take your clothes OFF when you get back and put different ones on. Preferably ones the cats have been laying on, but even if they are cool, as long as they are warmer than the ones you have been in outside, you will warm up faster. Even swapping just outer layers is helpful.
OH!!! Also, don't burn candles in the weatherproofed room. Bad for pets anyway, and they will use your oxygen and put carbon monoxide into the air, and that can make you sick. For real, even in a big house, constant candles will make you feel so gross after a while, and carbon monoxide BUILDS UP, from what I understand, it doesn't purge through lungs like carbon dioxide, it binds in your blood like oxygen and circulates like oxygen, using up space the oxygen would be using. It will build up over hours or days and make you feel nauseated, grody, headachy, and just generally foul. They are warm, but they aren't good for you. I made myself real sick like this in '07. Don't make my mistake.
In a pinch, stuffed animals or any kind of plushies will make great insulation. I spent my first night in my first apartment in winter sleeping under a mountain of stuffed animals because I could not find my blankets. Worked like a charm!

When Yuuki turned up to their weekly film night with a DVD that his classmate had recommended, Matsuo was ready for a relaxed, snuggly night-in with take-out, a cheesy, bargain-bin horror film and maybe, maybe some fun in the bedroom before they went to sleep. Then he saw the front cover, and his hopes for a cozy, sexy evening with his love flew out of the window.
Yuuki loves horror movies; Matsuo not so much. But over his dead body is he ever going to admit just how much of a scaredy-cat he is.
Based on the part from the 'Nothing to be ashamed' one-shot where they watch films together, and Matsuo is surprised that Yuuki is into zombie movies. I thought it would be funny and cute for Matsuo to be scared of ghosts.

what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i'm not sure if this counts as an ending, but this iwaoi fic i abandoned and left on a cliffhanger is still at the stage where iwa is like, dead. angstiest premise is my fic where daichi's dead and suga hallucinates and talks to his ghost.
real angstiest ending though i suppose would be but, soft because uh, well, not trying to give anything away here but we're one scene short of a death so

most of my fics are happy ending fics (and i will only count the ones with actual arcs and plots because my oneshots do NOT have those and the payoff is literal nothing) but i'm tentatively saying he who comes here, dies here, because of everything i've written lately that one will have the happiest ending, but for fics i've already finished, maybe by the moons and the stars in the sky (i'll be there) that i did for the kghn exchange in may? that one's pretty sweet too!

nope, my comments on hq fics are all generally nice and all my comments on my knh fics are so sweet they genuinely make me keep writing!

thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
i like it in small amounts, like if it's like a student learning french occasionally using french words in dialogue, or a scene in a pov of a character who knows that language! i keep my stance from last year though: if the character whose POV it's in (aka how we the audience perceives it) doesn't know the language, it shouldn't be included in detail. also, if it's not important to the plot, if it were me, i'd save it for another time
first fandom you wrote for?
... would it be bad if i said the bible? anyway, that one's kind of a 50/50, and if we don't count that, it is either the phantom of the opera or jekyll and hyde (if i wrote it but didn't mean it to be fanfiction), or harry potter (which i did mean to be fanfiction)
favourite fic you've ever written?
in terms of process, i really love how it's going with he who comes here! it's been a blast so far and i'm not even halfway through yet, so i'm looking forward to getting as far as i can with that one! in terms of the finished product, i find myself going back to by the moon and the stars, premonition of love, or for duty, not love, because i am a oneshot girl whose attention span has been completely ruined. also, those are the ones i like the most (and also surprisingly all in vignette style lmao)
aaaaaand a bit of a reflection! (this i (viie) just added myself because i'm a grade A yapper lol)
this year was another year where i switched fandoms halfway through and abandoned the old one in favour of the new, and i'm pretty proud of the work i've done in the past six months for the apothecary diaries! i've built myself my own little community (because a lot of the discord spaces i'm aware of are 18+) and i have a couple good friends made from it, which is great! i'm not always so good about making friends, but i made a lot of them and i'm very happy for it lol.
my writing for knh has been probably the most i've done in such a short period of time! last i checked i was around 150k ish? which is huge for me! and getting to explore the character dynamics portrayed in this series, what with jinshi and maomao's whole... thing, and both of them as characters, and just everyone involved, has been a good bit of learning for me! i also got to play with story and structure and thematics a bit more since i took AP lit lmao, so that's been nice!
i think 2025 has been a good year for my personal things, like my relationship with my parents and my mental health, though that one's a bit rocky even now, but i'm in a much better place than i was this time last year, and i'm grateful for everyone who's helped me to get this far, from my friends to the lovely commentors who cheer me on!

how many works do you have on ao3?
currently only 3, but I couldn't tell you how many WIPs I have sat in my Google Docs right now. I also have one ancient fic on Fanfiction.net, but I wrote that shit when I was 14 and am happy to let it die in the depths of the internet, I like to think I've improved since then.
what's your total word count?
On AO3, just under 6k. I'd guess I have as many as 30k across all my works in progress, even more so counting dialogue plans and notes.
what fandoms do you write for?
it's less about fandoms for me and more about specific pairings. I unfortunately seem to have a thing for niche media/underrated and rare pairings, so a lot of my writing is for small/older fandoms and my own personal enjoyment, which I share in the hopes of finding other fans on the internet.
Currently, I have WIPs for Tadaima, Okaeri, Battle Force Five (it is wild to me how there isn't a larger collection of works for Sherman/Tezz, so I'm gonna change that), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (probably the biggest and oldest 'fandom' I'm in, but I don't actively engage with other fans), Cherry Magic (but specifically Tsuge and Minato) and some old BL OVAs from the 1980s/90s, which I doubt anyone will ever read but I want to write anyway haha.
I have some ideas for deltarune as well, although these are fledgling ideas and I'm not sure if I'll actually get around to writing them. Plus with the nature of the game and it only being half complete and an absolute iceberg that is its lore, I'm hesitant to dip my toes into writing for it just yet. Also kralsei is still somewhat a controversial ship so if I get any hate in the future, that pair would probably be the reason for it.

Not very exciting, just in order of posting. Oldest to newest!
My oldest AO3 fic from 2015, Keeping Things Quiet, for Koujaku and Aoba of DRAMAtical Murder which stands at 91. I don't particularly care for this fandom anymore, but it meant a lot to me back in the day and I still love Koujaku as a character, and my handle was inspired by him.
Parallel, currently my only fic for Hypnosis Microphone (again, WIPs...), which currently stands at 69 kudos and still gets them to this day! It was also a Secret Santa exchange, and I still have the fanart I received from my gifter. Unfortunately the Gentaro/Dice tag is a little dry these days, so maybe I'll write some more for them soon, because I still love them very much.
I only posted An Excuse to Cuddle a couple of days ago, but it makes me so happy to see there are Tadaima, Okaeri fans out there! This is the first fic I have written to completion for years now, so I'm very proud of it and hold it very close to my heart.
do you respond to comments?
I try to! I'm not always great at responding promptly due to how I am and my limited social battery, but I really appreciate them and will try to get back to people eventually. I haven't had very many, but it makes me so happy to know that people took the time to read what I created. I also really love discussing writing and the drafting process with people, because I love the process of writing as much as sharing the final finished piece.
what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I currently don't have any. I love to sprinkle angst in throughout fics and I do enjoy making characters Suffer, but as it stands I tend to prefer happier/open endings. But that's not to say I never will!
I've had a few ideas in the past with very angsty endings, but never wrote them.
what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Parallel and KTQ are both shorter and don't really have conclusive endings per se, so for now it's An Excuse To Cuddle by process of elimination.
do you get hate on fics?
I haven't had much engagement and thankfully all of it has been kind and positive. As I said earlier though, a lot of my writing is for personal enjoyment so unless someone was actively rude or disrespectful, I don't think I would particularly take hate or criticism to heart.
do you write smut?
I have some smut WIPs! I've had many, many ideas for M-rated fics over the years, but it's taken me a long time to get past the mental block and be comfortable with writing it. I still love to write fluff and angst, so while I have some smut oneshots, it's probably going to be the case that multi-chapter fics will have mature content sprinkled in.
do you write crossovers?
as of now, no, but I wouldn't be opposed! I think it could make for some interesting character interactions and plot developments. Plus with holo-suites, the possibilities for Garak/Bashir fics are endless hehe. I'm more comfortable with AUs
have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so. Like I said, I have an ancient Ouran High School Host Club fic on ff.net. I haven't logged into that site (or even checked if it still runs???) in at least a decade, so if that's been shared elsewhere on the internet, I wouldn't know.

not that I know of! I wouldn't mind if people did, as long as they asked permission first and credited me appropriately.

no, but I would love to try! I also messaged a BF5 writer ages ago asking if I could write a continuation/inspired fic from one of theirs, but that is still buried deep within my drafts. Maybe it'll see the light of day one day!
what's your all-time favourite ship?
this is so difficult because I hold onto pairings, even if I don't participate in fandom or follow their franchises. I still have a soft spot RinHaru from Free! as that was the pairing I really went hard for back when I first joined tumblr and got into fandom properly, although I haven't consumed any Free! content since S2 finished, whenever that was!
I also adore Bashir/Garak from Star Trek, not just for their dynamic and history as the 'what-could've-been' first gay couple in the franchise, but because their actors love them so much too. To them, Garashir was canon and feasible, despite the direction the show took their characters in.
Currently, Matsuo and Yuuki own my heart, and I cherish them very dearly. I don't know if they'll stay as my favourite, but seeing as their story is still ongoing, I think they'll be with me for a long time.
what's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
as mentioned above, the BF5 continuation fic. I'm definitely going to give it a good go, but it's very disjointed in its planning, I don't know if I'll make it multichapter or just a very long one shot, and I do have other fics I'm more motivated to write first.
what are your writing strengths?
I've been told the general flow and my way with words makes my writing really enjoyable to read, even one of my history teachers said as much about an essay I wrote. I really enjoy making my writing complex and detailed, especially when writing description or introspective pieces. My actual knowledge of written English and about writing composition is also pretty strong; I love exploring grammar and sentence structure and teaching it is one of my strengths my teaching peers/mentors have commended me on numerous times.
what are your writing weaknesses?
I love a multi-clause sentence, but sometimes I go on for a little bit too long and it ends up getting a bit waffly. I'm also terrible at proof-reading my own work! Once I'm done drafting, I just want to post/submit it and be done haha

if it's relevant to the plot or the character knows the language, I think small amounts is fine and enjoyable to read (I am a sucker for a character reverting to their first language during moments of emotional intensity).

Ouran High School Host Club. My lost ff.net fic, it was for Tamaki and Kyoya... Honestly looking back I wasn't even that big of a fan of them as a ship, I just loved Kyoya and wanted to write something romantic for him.

definitely An Excuse to Cuddle, for a lot of different reasons. This is gonna be long and include a lot of personal reflections!
I watched Tadaima, Okaeri on a whim because I knew it was the first omegaverse anime, and I'd never delved into A/B/O before (in fact, it scared me in a weird way?). I clocked Matsuo and Yuuki as the secondary couple from the intro, but I was not expecting how much I was going to fall in love with them so quickly. They aren't even a particularly remarkable pairing, and their story is so simple yet beautiful. I love that neither of them were expecting to find love, and how naturally and organically they developed as a couple without even realising it. Not to mention they are the very definition of 'fell first/fell harder'
Along with rediscovering BF5, Tadaima was a really lovely experience of being in a really small, but really passionate fandom. I have at least 10 ideas for Matsuo and Yuuki (and the other TO characters) which I want to bring to life.
Also, 2025 was a big year for me with rediscovering my love for writing and making art in different forms. My passion for writing and art dwindled significantly once I reached my late teens and went into adulthood. For years, I didn't create anything, because of shifting all my energy into academic writing, working full time, stress and a combination of poor sleep, mild depression and chronic executive dysfunction from undiagnosed ADHD. Plus, even back when I was a younger teen and wrote that Kyoya/Tamaki fic and had friends in my offline, everyday life that drew fanart, read fanfic etc I still felt intense shame and embarrassment as a writer and consumer of fanfiction. I think a lot of it stemmed from self-esteem issues and questioning my own abilities as a creator, plus that was when Tumblr and social media involvement in fandoms really began to take off, so it was still pretty novel and not celebrated as it is today.
It's only now in the past year or so, plus one of my closest friends writing and publishing a book of her own, that I've grown in my confidence, realised the reason why I write (my own enjoyment!) and been able to tell people proudly that I am a writer and share my work with people in my offline life. Plus, with my diagnosis and medication, I've now been able to adjust my life to fit painting and writing in again for my mental health. I'm very grateful to fanfiction and the many writers, readers and creators I've encountered in the 10+ years I've been online. I'm hoping that 2026 will be the year that I can really start to shine and share all the ideas I've had trapped in my head for so long.

On Saturday I said to my partner, as I have said for months, "A ten thousand dollar a year raise would solve so many of my problems."
As of this morning I was reluctantly looking for jobs because I love my job and don't want to leave it, but see: $10k raise problem solver.
As of noon today this was no longer an issue, because my boss called me with the news that I was getting a $10K merit raise.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is roughly $200 extra per paycheck. Enough to pay off debt faster, rebuild my savings, and spend a weekend a month in Milwaukee getting obscenely laid. The sex I'm going to have on $200 extra per paycheck. You can't even.
May all of you get the $10K raise your soul has yearned for. And whatever level of sex you can be satisfied with for $200.
In a weird twist of fate yesterday when I reblogged this I was interviewing for a job that would pay me $10k more. I just got the confirmation that I got the job.
