KARA / PERSUASION.

“Monica asked me to get a read on you.” Kara doesn’t love the implication that she’d use her powers to do so. “Sorry.”

“I am.” Kara confirms with one nod of her head. “Which doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I think this reality is big enough for us all to co-exist.”

A purple woman tends to attract attention. Kara knows that, but she doesn’t hide who she is. If anything, she’s wandered into the restaurant by chance. “Thank you, but I don’t think you need to do that for me. I came with the full intention of being a paying customer.”

“I think I’m one and done. For starters, I doubt the mutants would waste a resurrection on someone who isn’t a big name. Second of all... well, I don’t know. It feels wrong. I always just assumed I’d live and then I’d die.”

“Thor with a kid. I feel like the press would eat that up. Why haven’t they yet?”

“A kid. That’s exciting.” Kids probably aren’t in the cards for her. Not after watching her father act the way that he did. Kara didn’t need to risk ruining any kids. “Planned or unplanned?”

“Mayor Cage sends his regards.” Kara offers a polite smile. “I’m here on behalf of the Thunderbolts.” 

“I’m purple.” Kara gestures to herself. “I get the people staring thing. At least those wings can be hidden.” Maybe at least isn’t the right word. Kara’s fine with who she is. She loves herself. It’s taken a long time to get there, but she’s genuinely happy. “Wings, purple skin. You learn to love ‘em.”

There’s something soothing about Kara Killgrave. She knows what it is, but she doesn’t want to use it unfairly or unjustly. She holds both hands out, makes herself seem as nonthreatening as possible. “We don’t have to talk about anything you don’t want to. I’m not here for that anyway. My name is Kara. Do you have a minute?”

“Most messes can be cleaned up.” The ones left behind by her father were harder than most, but Kara had seem people heal and move on. “Do you think this one can’t be?”

“We’re the Thunderbolts,” Kara explains. “But not the ones commissioned by Valentina Allegra De Fontaine. Luke Cage arranged this group for better optics after the former mayor — Wilson Fisk — had a team of criminals using the name.”

“It’s called Enticement.” Kara was just on the nightly talk show circus promoting it. “Tell that to Mayor Cage. He commissioned the scent.”

“I’d be happy to talk Thunderbolts with you. Anything personal (anything about Killgrave) is off the table.”
